Given the patriarchal mindset of Indian society, as many other industries, the financial industry also remains male-centric. As per Hindustan Times (2023), in India, 47% of wealth (declared income) is personally held by women; and if invested, usually done by their husbands on their behalves (so these women lose autonomy of control of their personal savings) (The Economic Times, 2023) or left idle in bank accounts (real purchasing power of which depletes year over year due to rising inflation) (Business Standard, 2021).
Financial Express (2022) confirms the above to be the case as women often feel intimidated to enter into the male-dominated finance sphere. Thus, we at Dhanvesttor, aim to build one to one vulnerable and trustworthy relationships with these women; thereby, creating a safe space for them to effectively engage in the financial world. Moreover, once these women are comfortable and hence, open up to Dhanvesttor, we take a personalised approach in addressing their unique financial needs such as financial learning, planning, budgeting, investing. As a result, we hope to foster women empowerment by not only making them financially stronger but also by helping them become more confident individuals.
