Zycus - Associate Director - Product Counsel

We are looking for an Associate Director- Product Counsel for our Digital Transaction Management (DTM) AI-powered eSignature Solution "Certinal" (https://certinal.com/). Certinal eSign is a future-ready Digital Transaction Management solution that provides trust, security, and compliance. We are looking for a passionate techno-legal compliance leader providing product and privacy counsel, and risk management guidance to the product team of Certinal. The leader will lead a team of legal analysts, supporting the product development team for regulatory compliances of an enterprise eSignature product with global eSignature, industry specific and privacy laws, and will play a dual role of business advisor and legal problem solver.

Certinal is a subsidiary of Zycus, the pioneer in Cognitive Procurement.

Role & Responsibilities : 

- Lead compliance team for product development support globally for all of Certinal's suite of products.

- Deep understanding of global eSignature laws, industry specific laws like HIPAA, Title 21 CFR Part 11, and privacy laws like EU GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA, PDPA and APEC privacy principles.

- Provide the country specific legal digital compliance requirements for enterprises in APAC, US, ANZ, EU regions, and other geographies to the product team.

- Should be able to build the matrix of applicable laws, controls, and detailed software requirement matrix for product development team to develop the requirements.

- Should be able to deliver for applicable laws, the legal summary content for website, Trust Center, and detailed controls for customer compliance enquiries.

- Should be able to independently perform legal assessment of Certinal products with respect to global applicable laws.

- Should be able to lead external assessments and audits, and answer questions related to product functionalities in external assessments and audits for global applicable laws and privacy compliance and certifications.

- Should be able to conduct periodic legal content update and driving adoption in product and delivery and marketing teams, such as privacy and cookie policy reviews with every major release of the product to ensure compliance.

- Should be able to educate and train cross internal teams e.g. product team, global delivery, information security, product marketing, customer marketing related to privacy aspects such as privacy principles, consent management and tracking.

- The role also requires to be a compliance pre-sales advisor and help in supporting presales queries, answering Certinal customer's legal team's queries within a defined SLA.

- Contribute to legal innovations for the software coordinating with the product management team by understanding the pain points of legal teams in the market.

- Lead the initiative to prepare the data annotation and legal contracts related dataset requirements for the Certinal AI product team.

Requirements :

Key Skills that we are looking for:

- 15 years experience in legal compliance function, with at least 7 years in product and privacy counsel role.

- Certified Information Privacy Professional such as IAPP or equivalent certification is highly desirable.

- Must have worked in a product counsel legal supporting roles in product companies.

- Must be tech savvy with basic understanding of digital certificates, eSignatures, remote cloud signatures, APIs, cloud servers, data retention, log retention, data residency requirements.

- Prior experience in a security or eSignature domain product company is highly desirable but not mandatory.

- Should have strong communication skills since the role requires interacting with external stakeholders.
