Job Title: Zonal Sales Manager FMCG (General Trade / Modern Trade)
Location: North Zone / West Zone / South Zone / East Zone
Department: Sales General Trade / Modern trade
Team Handling: Yes, the ASM team will report into this position.
Role Objective:
To drive primary and secondary sales for the assigned zone by effectively leading a team of Area Sales Managers (ASMs) and Sales Officers, managing distribution networks, and executing trade marketing strategies to increase market share and achieve business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Revenue Management:
- Drive top-line growth and achieve monthly/quarterly/annual sales targets.
- Monitor zone-wise primary and secondary sales and take corrective actions to ensure the achievement of targets.
Team Leadership:
- Manage, mentor, and motivate a team of ASMs/Sales Officers.
- Identify skill gaps and organize training/coaching to improve performance.
Distribution Management:
- Expand and strengthen the distributor and retail network.
- Ensure optimal stock availability, visibility, and product placement.
Market Intelligence:
- Track competitor activity, pricing, and promotional strategies.
- Provide input to marketing and product teams on market trends and customer feedback.
Planning & Forecasting:
- Prepare sales forecasts and budgets for the zone.
- Develop and execute beat plans, territory plans, and seasonal campaigns.
Trade Marketing Execution:
- Ensure effective execution of trade promotions and schemes in the zone.
- Monitor ROI of trade spending and align with overall marketing strategy.
MIS & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate sales data and submit regular performance reports to management.
Key Requirements:
Education: MBA/PGDM in Sales/Marketing preferred (2016, 2017 & 2018 batch)
Experience: FMCG Sales, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership role managing multiple territories
Skills:
- Strong team management and interpersonal skills
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in MS Excel and sales analytics tools
- Deep understanding of the GT distribution ecosystem

- Numeric & Weighted Distribution Expansion
- Team Performance & Attrition Rate
- Distributor ROI & Channel Health
- Scheme Effectiveness & Execution Scorecard
