Zonal Head - East - Media Conglomerate

I am currently looking for candidate to take up the position for Zonal Head - East for one of the India's largest media conglomerate.

Location :- Kolkata

Area Covered :- West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand & Orissa

Revenue Business :- 60 Crore

Position Summary

Motivate and lead entire region team for circulation function including sales, accounts and operations employees, control costs and ensure it is within the budgeted norms, monitor processes to ensure it is ABC compliant; maintain and monitor the trade relations to company advantage, direct and strategize the key readership development programs like NIE and ETIC and continuously improve efficiency and productivity of the key business processes in the RMD function with the objective of delivering the desired circulation numbers for entire zone and ensuring smooth distribution of newspaper and magazines.

Responsible for achieving the overall circulation objectives for all BCCL Publications in that area/region and managing the total distribution cost of all publications which includes Freight, Labor and packing material costs.

Key Resultant Areas:

Achievement of Newspaper Sales Targets

- Monitor day to day PO and net sales, maintain effective trade relations, implement and introduce trade and readers schemes in order to achieve newspaper sales targets

Achievement of Magazine Sales

- Monitor availability and visibility of all magazines in CSP and book bulk copies for all magazines for specific segments, develop innovative subscription schemes, monitor print order, push sales in order to promote subscription, ensure minimum unsold and ensure sales / availability of all WMM and BCCL magazines

Control Unsold

- Follow-up with accounts and sales teams, monitor proper distribution, inspect PO regularly, ascertain recycle of unsold in order to ensure unsold are under control

Adherence to Transportation and Packaging Costs

- Establish distribution network in a cost effective manner, enter into tie-up arrangement on cost sharing basis with non competition publications, negotiate with transporter and with labor contractor, re-route and rationalize routing on a regular basis in order to ensure costs within the planned levels

- Timely Collections And Trade Settlements. ABC compliances.

- Monitor outstanding and ABC compliances in order to ensure that there is timely collections and trade settlements

RMD Team Motivation and Trade Relation

- Motivate and train the team members, provide them necessary support for achieving their targets, monitor the trade political under current and introduce trade relation building promotion activities in order to keep the team motivate and maintain healthy trade relations
