Position Overview :

Category Manager will be managing a set of specific category (including reporting, driving unit, revenue and margin growth, and executing promotions), negotiating with key brands, driving incremental selection in the stores, and working with stakeholder teams to deliver a best-in-class customer experience that will result in category leadership in the online market segment.

Responsibilities :

- Overall owner of the category internally, partners and brands.

- Will be responsible for understanding customer needs, growing selection for categories, onboarding & managing vendor partners, optimizing vendor terms and getting support for marketing campaigns

- Should drive visibility plans, promotion plans & coordinate the same between the internal marketing teams & that of Brands

- Identify merchant partners for a category under the marketplace model.

- Develop strong business relationship with our suppliers (manufacturers/vendors).

- Identify and introduce new product categories.

- Evolve strategies to keep the product line live and growing.

- Managing the merchandising of the category

- Be the SPOC (Single Point of contact) of a particular category for internal teams and for merchant partners and handle the operations, resolve issues and drive the day-day sales for the category

- Reduce churn of the Top sellers keep all the top sellers engaged with the marketplace through day - day interaction on live catalogs, introducing new catalogs and deals

- Loop-in the feedback from Sellers or Internal teams in an effort to build long-term, scalable processes - work towards bridging the gap in existing processes

- Ideating & executing super deals and customer delight initiatives

Requirement :

- Graduate with 4+ year of working experience in category management.

- Good understanding & experience of e-commerce marketplace operations

- Tenacity to develop ideas independently and thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment

- Obsession for growth, numbers driven

- Comfortable with uncertainty and lack of structure

- Excellent Communication Skills - capable of communicating well across all levels

- Strong relationship building skills - strong in maintaining vendor relations and structure best business deals leveraging strong negotiation and influencing skills

- Strong business judgement with a track record of successful negotiations Appetite for ambiguity
