Zeta intends to replace many legacy systems in use by banks for processing payments. Banks need to leapfrog into an era of connected devices and omnipresent commerce. Banking should become an integral part of the commerce and enterprise systems, thereby enabling seamless consumer and business transactions. The average number of interactions an account holder may have with a bank would increase to 12-15 per day in the near-term from the current average of 3-4 transactions per month. These could grow to an unimaginably large number in the future. Most banking systems aren- t designed for this scale. In many ways, these systems are limiting the imagination of the key stakeholders at the banks. We want this changed fundamentally, in an interoperable and regulatorily compliant manner.

ROLE
Background to the position:
As a Director of Product Management, you will be working closely with the leadership and the rest of the Zeta product team to define, build and scale the Zeta payment systems with 2 core objectives:
- Product as a Business - drive, build and manage a product line using a P&L analysis with the help of commercial, financial and other metrics
- Product Marketing - strong collaboration on go-to-market strategies, launch planning, product positioning and messaging You would lead a team of product managers across levels. We're looking for someone who thrives in the early stages of a product launch and is self-driven.
Your primary responsibilities include:
- Create company-wide product strategy and manage product team to shepherd new ideas through to implementation: research, product planning, discovery, development, execution
- Map solutions to specific opportunities so that Zeta can offer full-stack global payment processing including but not limited to
- Card networks - Mastercard, Visa, Rupay, Amex, JCB, CUP etc
- Payment networks - IMPS, NEFT, UPI, Swift, custom e-commerce payment gateways, direct acquirer integrations
- As a Product Director, you will set the overall strategic vision for your product space and product team, are accountable for succeeding against identified business outcomes and metrics, will set and manage the product's budget and financials, set the short and long term product goals, and quarterly Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).
- Incorporate existing development backlog and make priorities as determined by the business, consumer, and market needs
- Proactively drive cross-team strategy, driving a tight collaboration with your key Design, Engineering, and Marketing partners and business stakeholders
- You will be accountable for building, coaching, and mentoring a strong team of product owners while also building a strong team culture of progress, transparency, and efficiency across Product teams. You will be responsible to elevate your collective team's performance by providing insightful, motivating, and constructive feedback to all roles on the team while also working with senior leadership and peers across pyramids to negotiate and remove execution-related barriers for your teams.
Who should apply for this role?
- At least 10+ years of experience in a Technology Product Management role
- You should have a track record of :
- Leading a product department
- Either marketing or building & shipping high-quality technology products owning the process end to end
- Formulating product strategy factoring industry trends, market, and competition
- Building web applications and mobile apps with modern UX/UI patterns
- Adapting to complex situations with an aim to achieve business goals
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
- An engineering / technical / marketing background that will allow you to reason about product trade-offs and make good choices with minimal inputs from engineers
- You conceive possibilities, think big picture, but deliver on the details
- Optional - prior experience in payment systems or accounting systems
