- This is a full-time position based in Bangalore, India and will report directly to MPOWER's executive team.

The Role : 

You will be responsible for all aspects of growing and operating MPOWER's India office. This role will require you to think strategically and execute impeccably while managing a multi-disciplinary team. You will be driving MPOWER's corporate strategy, business development, and operations strategy in India. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to :

- Recruiting, onboarding, and managing a high-performing team to support operations across functions, including specialized tech talent

- Establishing KPIs and ensuring disciplined use of internal systems while tapping into the creativity of the team for continuous improvement

- Understanding MPOWER's target demographic and product lineup inside and out, and training the team on MPOWER differentiators

- Utilizing various communication tools to ensure continued connection and collaboration between MPOWER's Washington D.C. and Bangalore offices while building a strong culture in the office

- Serving as the point person for negotiating and implementing partnerships; coordinating with third-party vendors; coordinating with MPOWER's engineering, marketing, and finance departments

- Relaying product needs to the engineering, marketing, and operations teams based on insights from borrower and partner interactions

- Representing MPOWER at conferences, meetings, industry events and in the press - you will be the voice of MPOWER in India!

Qualifications: 

- Graduate degree, MBA and U.S. / Canada degrees preferred

- Relevant work experience building operations for a North American company

- Analytical/quantitative background with past work experience in financial services and technology is a must, consumer finance exposure is a plus

- Expertise as an operating leader such as Country Manager / Business Head through a proven track record of building and scaling businesses

- Deep understanding of financial products - banking, underwriting, or loan processing experience is a plus

- An entrepreneurial mindset and startup experience are critical

- Demonstrated ability to manage a P&L

- Strong technical skills including comfort creating partner-ready power-point slides, building excel models, creating Salesforce.com reports, and leveraging cloud-based tools

- First-hand understanding of MPOWER's mission; passion for making a positive impact on students lives

- A passion for financial inclusion and access to higher education is a must!

- In addition, you should be comfortable working in a start-up environment, meaning a small agile team, fast-evolving roles and responsibilities, variable workload and tight deadlines, a high degree of autonomy, and 80-20 everything.
