Role Description:
Strategic leadership role responsible for business planning, business management, strategic guidance, innovation initiatives and project management support for the Investment and Merchant Banking practice of a Top 10 domestic, bank-promoted Investment Bank.
Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Actively partner business leadership in budgeting, business planning, manpower planning and business development
2. Define and monitor key business performance metrics and present actionable solutions in discussion with management
3. Shadow business teams in deal origination activities to gain deeper insights of business dynamics, client relationship management and deal execution to help support the strategic solutioning process
4. Identify and actualize strategic synergies that can be derived with parent Bank
5. Help coordinate and finalize Company-Parent Bank joint action on critical business areas
6. Perform oversight of select/ key projects ensuring cross-functional coordination and timely progress
7. Independently lead strategic initiatives specific to the business unit in close coordination with top and senior management
8. Perform periodic business assessments and industry/ global benchmarking
9. Contribute to continuous organizational improvement: Understand organizational/ business goals; Apply industry best practices; Ideate, plan and implement business-accretive and cost-control measures
10. Support in coordination, preparation and finalization of Board-related matters
11. Support HCM with performance measurement and productivity enhancement initiatives
12. Collaborate with support functions such as Finance, Marketing, HCM, IT, etc. to maintain BU-organizational synergies
Education Qualification: Graduate from reputed institutes; CA; CFA
Specialist functional Exposure: Financial management (incl. understanding to financial statements), business planning, project management, basic understanding of macro-economics and industry sectors
Specific Sector Experience required: Direct or indirect (minimum) prior experience in Corporate Banking, Corporate Finance, MSME/ SME Banking, Investment Banking, ECM, DCM. Background in PE, VC, Investor Services, Strategy, Consulting also considered.

2. Ability to deal with uncertainty, adjusting course as per circumstances while keeping sight of strategic objectives
3. Thorough understanding of business and capital life-cycles, capital markets and role of capital market intermediaries
4. Complete understanding and fair exposure to investment banking practices such as M&A, Private Equity, Corporate Finance, ECM, DCM, Institutional Equities, etc.
5. Excellent knowledge of financial management including excel proficiency
6. Work-ethic that showcases a pro-active approach, perseverance, teamwork, good time-management and sincerity in execution of responsibilities
7. Absorbent personality that is able learn on the job and effectively develop and implement business-positive solutions
