Our opportunity is to produce lots of compostable packaging so that whatever gets thrown is good garbage, and makes it good for the earth and our health too. We are looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Head to join our team. As a Quality Assurance Head, S/he will be responsible for creating and implementing a strategy for quality coordination and testing as well as suggesting solutions to identified quality problems. S/he will be responsible for end to end Quality Assurance, do Quality Monitoring and reviews, perform Non-Conformance Investigations, and support operations excellence throughout the factory, and other quality tasks as needed. Some Key Responsibilities: - Ensure quality control of raw materials and finished products - Prepare reports on each test performed for measuring quality, quantity, and composition - Compute formulas, percentages or production-specific factors - Ensure to meet safety standards set by both their companies and regulatory authorities. - Able to meet the industry-specific requirements as have been mentioned under FSSAI regulations - Review and report the principle causes of quality loss and nonconformance - Ensure all check sheets are correctly completed and all non-compliance found have had the correct action taken and signed off - Develop and review quality and safety policies and manage audits by third-party inspectors - Train quality assurance teams and oversee manufacturing and production processes. - Inspect facilities for compliance with standards, determining methods to resolve any issues that arise. Role Profile: - To prepare reports on food quality status to relay to owners and management and may keep records of all tests and inspections that have been conducted - Perform quality control analysis including tests and inspections of products and process - Maintain the long-term continuity of production and service quality - Capable of validating process & recommend changes - Ability to respond to customer & complain handling - Able to monitor the quality standards and executing novel technical and testing standards as per requirement - Awareness of national and international certification for compostable materials Person Profile: - To be familiar with the common standards which include the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) management system required by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the standards set by the Safe Quality Food Institute (SQFI) - Bachelor's/ Masters degree in a food-related discipline, such as food science, microbiology, chemistry, or food industry management - Excellent numerical skills and understanding of data analysis/statistical methods - Good knowledge of MS Office and databases - Outstanding communication and negotiating skills - Great attention to detail and a results-driven approach - Certification of quality control is a strong advantage (ISO 9000 etc.) - Understanding of compostable/disposable segments - Knowledge of quality standards in different types of material
