Financial Controller - US Operations About: - We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to oversee the financial operations of our US-based business while working from India Mumbai - The ideal candidate will have an in-depth understanding of QuickBooks for managing the company's books of accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with US GAAP. - This role requires a proactive individual who is comfortable working remotely with teams in different time zones and can manage all aspects of financial control, reporting, and analysis. Key Responsibilities: Financial Reporting: - Maintain and oversee the books of accounts for US operations in QuickBooks. - Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. - Conduct variance analysis and explain key trends and deviations. Budgeting & Forecasting: - Develop, monitor, and update annual budgets and rolling forecasts. - Analyze financial performance and propose improvements. - Work closely with the CFO to support long-term financial planning. Compliance & Auditing: - Ensure compliance with US GAAP and regulatory requirements. - Ensure timely filing of federal and state tax returns and compliance with other statutory obligations. Cash Flow & Treasury Management: - Monitor cash flow to ensure liquidity. - Manage banking relationships, process payments, and control fund transfers. - Prepare cash flow forecasts and identify opportunities for optimizing working capital. Internal Controls & Processes: - Implement, monitor, and improve financial controls to safeguard company assets. - Streamline processes to improve efficiency and ensure cost control. Team Collaboration & Communication: - Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, and sales, to provide financial insights and support. - Communicate regularly with US-based management to discuss financial performance, risks, and opportunities. Qualifications & Skills: Educational Background: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. - CPA or CA qualification is highly preferred but not mandatory. Experience: - Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in financial management or controlling roles. - Strong experience in US GAAP compliance and familiarity with QuickBooks is essential. - Experience working with US-based operations and knowledge of federal/state tax regulations in the US is a plus. Technical Skills: - Proficiency in QuickBooks is required, with experience in managing end-to-end accounting on the platform. - Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and other financial tools for budgeting and analysis. - Experience with financial planning software (e.g., Adaptive Insights, NetSuite) is a bonus. Key Competencies: - Strong analytical skills with a high attention to detail. - Ability to work independently and manage remote working arrangements. - Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with US-based teams. - Ability to work across different time zones with flexibility.
