Role : People Manager - Retirements / Pension Valuation

Shift timing : 1:30pm IST to 10:30pm IST
Reporting to : Associate Director
Job Summary: As a Manager you will lead a large number of client projects within an internal service center for the US Retirement Practice. You will effectively manage clients, projects, and team leaders / asst.managers to meet or exceed client expectations. You will work with client teams across the US Retirement Practice.
You will oversee a diverse team of team leaders. Asst. Managers, pension analysts and senior analysts and actuaries, providing technical review of work product along with training and performance guidance as needed and act as a people manager, coach, mentor and role model for junior associates.
Performance Objectives:
Clients:
- Deliver superior, consistent project management for assigned clients:
- Develop and manage project plans and budgets involving multiple workflow streams and client teams
- Serve as the day to day project lead, ensuring the progress of the team against established objectives, budget, timeline, deliverables and quality standards
- Serve as primary contact to onshore leaders and teams on delivery of services
- Develop a trusted advisor relationship with onshore leaders and client teams through effective communication and efficient, quality execution of projects
- Manage expectations from business leaders and raise appropriate issues to leadership team
Excellence:
- Identify work opportunities and growth plans
- Contribute to the development of new tools and approaches
- Identify opportunities to enhance quality and/or improve processes to reduce costs
Financial:
- Meet billable hours as described by your onshore leaders
- Manage projects and leverage resources to produce quality deliverables on time and within budget
People:
- Build relationships internally and collaborate effectively with onshore teams in offices across the US Retirement Practice and demonstrate natural ease and effectiveness when dealing with colleagues at all levels
- Serve as mentor and people manager to team leaders and asst managers on your team
- Delegate work to others
Qualifications & Additional Information:
Overall Experience : 14-16 Years
People Management Experience : 6+ years on a leadership role managed atleast 2+ appraisal cycles
Team Size: 40-50 member team indirectly (Directly around 3-4 Team leads)
- Highly numerate, with preferably Mathematics or a related discipline at degree level.
- Proven experience successfully managing multiple projects and producing quality deliverables on time and within budget
- Experience of managing team leaders / assistant managers for 2+ years and been in leadership position for 6+ years
- Excellent oral and written communications skills and the ability to communicate effectively with client teams
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with other team members, and to provide guidance and leadership working with diverse team members.
- Possess or expect to be able to quickly develop advanced knowledge of internal Willis Towers Watson tools
- Self-starter attitude and ability to work within ambiguity
- Flexibility and proven ability to diagnose and resolve issues
- Strong analytical skills
- Enjoys training/mentoring and developing leaders
- General Pension experience would be preferred
