Job Description - Workplace Service Technical Architect
Objectives
Working as part of Global Workplace service line team the WPS Technical Architect will be dedicated
1) To review the proposed solutions & oversee all account related architecture work;
2) To face off to the client TDA/Chief Architect;
3) To drive innovation and
4) To lead and direct during problem situations
5) To guide & mentor the technology service line SME's.
The work is varied and covers many technologies so a broad range of solution selling, design, build, implementation and run experience is essential.
Key Responsibilities
1) To own solutions & to oversee all service line related architecture work
- Own all technical solution across the workplace service line
- Using a formal methodology to design technical solutions covering the key components including technology and product selections, hardware and software platforms, networks, external interfaces and connectivity
- Reporting to the Senior Service line lead
- Full understanding of the account contractual obligations
- Provide an advisory role to the lead on bids and pre-sales including solution design from bid stage through to acceptance by delivery
- Provide and develop the technical strategy for the workplace service line
- Build, maintain and co-ordinate the technical relationship with strategic suppliers
- Identify ideas/areas that would result in reduced run/operational costs.
- Propose options for improvements to existing client infrastructures - On-going run
- Identify where existing systems can be improved and/or modified to ensure maximum ROI is being achieved
- Review client's infrastructure for products that are nearing EOL (end of life) and propose options for improvements
- Managing and leading all architecture related aspects during escalations & major incident management.
2) Innovation
- Using knowledge of account & client spot opportunities to deliver innovation to reduce ongoing cost of delivery
- Engage with Continuous Innovation Forum team
- Manage the development of the architecture in line with the client and account requirements to ensure efficient operation
3) During Problem account situations the Account Architect will:
- Act as a technical advisory for proposed solutions
- Be responsible for agreeing remedial action
- Understand, communicate and mitigate any risk associated with remedial action
Skills
- WPS technologies expertise: SCCM, VDI, O365, SOE, Mobility, AppSense & SharePoint,
- Working knowledge of DELIVER and project management skills. Project Risk Impact.
- Strong written and verbal skills, with good presentation skills.
- Awareness and understanding of ITIL concepts.
- Ability to simplify concepts and pitch at different target audiences. Ability to translate from an 'implementation' to 'run' scenario and create relevant document set
- High level design documents.
- Excellent client skills, working with the account TDA. Pre-sales & Post-sales
- Understand RightshoreTM and - Shift left delivery models-
- Fully understand client business needs and requirements and manage customer expectations against these requirements
