Overview: The Business Development Head for the resort is responsible for driving revenue growth through the identification and development of new business opportunities. They lead a team to establish and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, expand the resort's client base, and maximize sales opportunities across various market segments. The Business Development Head collaborates with internal departments to align business strategies with operational capabilities and guest expectations.

Responsibilities:

- Sales Strategy: Develop and implement sales strategies to maximize revenue from banquet and event bookings. Identify target markets, develop sales goals, and create action plans to achieve objectives.

- Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and manage a team of banquet sales executives, coordinators, and support staff. Provide guidance, support, and performance feedback to ensure individual and team success.

- Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain relationships with corporate clients, event planners, wedding coordinators, and other potential customers. Understand client needs, preferences, and budgets to tailor offerings and secure bookings.

- Lead Generation: Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking, cold calling, referrals, and other sales techniques. Utilize industry contacts and participate in relevant events and trade shows.

- Proposal Development: Prepare detailed proposals, contracts, and pricing quotations in response to client inquiries. Negotiate terms and conditions to secure profitable agreements while meeting client expectations.

- Collaboration: Coordinate with internal departments, including catering, culinary, operations, and facilities, to ensure successful event execution. Communicate client requirements and preferences effectively to ensure seamless delivery of services.

- Market Analysis: Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions to identify opportunities and threats. Conduct regular analysis of sales performance, market share, and customer feedback to inform decision-making.

- Customer Service: Ensure exceptional customer service throughout the sales process, from initial inquiry to post-event follow-up. Address client concerns and feedback promptly and effectively to maintain satisfaction and loyalty.

- Revenue Management: Set pricing strategies, discounts, and promotions to optimize revenue and profitability while remaining competitive in the market. Monitor sales performance and adjust strategies as needed to achieve targets.

- Sales and Revenue Generation: Lead sales efforts to drive revenue growth through the sale of accommodations, event spaces, dining, recreational activities, and other resort services. Develop pricing strategies, negotiate contracts, and close deals to achieve sales targets.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.

- Minimum of 8 years of experience in banquet sales, event management, or a related sales role, with a proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.

- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff to excel.

- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.

- Solid understanding of the banquet and event industry, including market dynamics, customer preferences, and industry trends.

- Proficiency in sales and customer relationship management software (CRM), Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant tools.

- Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to accommodate client events and business needs.

- Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills.

- Ability to travel occasionally for client meetings, site visits, and industry events.
