Wockhardt - Head - SAP ABAP

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic professional to lead our SAP team as the Head of SAP with a specialization in ABAP (Advanced Business Application Programming). The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing our SAP landscape, driving ABAP development initiatives, and ensuring the efficient implementation and maintenance of SAP solutions to meet the organization's business needs. As the Head of SAP, you will oversee a team working on complete landscape of SAP ECC on Hana (MM, SD, FICO, QM / WM, ABAP etc.). Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality SAP solutions in manufacturing (pharma preferred) with multi-geographies.

Responsibilities:

Leadership and Team Management:

- Lead and mentor a team of ABAP developers, functional heads (including GxP compliance), providing guidance and fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation.

- Set clear objectives and performance expectations for the team, conducting regular performance evaluations and promoting professional growth.

SAP Solution Strategy and Development:

- Develop and execute the overall SAP solution strategy, aligning it with the organization's business objectives and ensuring efficient utilization of SAP capabilities.

- Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of ABAP programs, customizations, and enhancements to support various business processes.

- Collaborate with functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications for ABAP development.

SAP Implementation and Integration:

- Drive the successful implementation and integration of SAP solutions, ensuring seamless data flow and smooth business processes across modules.

- Work closely with project managers and stakeholders to identify project risks and develop mitigation plans.

Performance Optimization and Support:

- Monitor and optimize the performance of SAP systems and ABAP programs, proactively identifying areas for improvement.

- Provide expert-level support for complex technical issues and incidents related to ABAP development.

Compliance and Security:

- Ensure adherence to best practices, industry standards, and compliance requirements in ABAP development and SAP system configurations across MM, SD, FICO etc.

- Implement and maintain security protocols to protect sensitive data and prevent unauthorized access.

- Innovation and Continuous Improvement:

- Stay up-to-date with the latest SAP technologies and trends, advocating for the adoption of new tools and methodologies to enhance efficiency and productivity.

- Lead and participate in research and development activities to drive continuous improvement in ABAP development practices.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- Extensive experience (10+ years) in SAP ABAP development, with a proven track record of successful project implementations and management. S/4 Hana implementation would be desirable.

- Solid understanding of various SAP modules and integration points, including but not limited to SD, MM, FI/CO, and QM.

- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team of professionals.

- In-depth knowledge of SAP best practices, custom development, performance tuning, and debugging techniques.

- Experience in SAP S/4HANA and Fiori development (o-data) is a plus.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on driving innovative and efficient solutions.

- SAP certification in ABAP is desirable but not mandatory.
