Job Description - Wholesale Strategy Analyst

Overview:

Wholesale business includes Global Markets (Fixed Income & Equities) and Investment Banking division (ECM, DCM, M&A). Wholesale division operates across all four regions - Japan, Asia, Europe and Americas - and is a globally integrated franchise.

The regional and divisional strategy teams are pivotal in shaping longer term strategy for Wholesale. The work of the strategy team includes market entry strategy, business performance review, analysis.The team works directly with senior management across the businesses to determine the right strategy for reaching Wholesale aspirations in the rapidly changing market environment.

Role & Responsibilities of the position in brief:

- Work as a part of the Wholesale Strategy division on global, regional and divisional projects

- Prepare presentations for senior management board meetings, town halls and off sites

- Develop market sizing / revenue pool models at a regional as well as product level

- Prepare a quarterly presentation on - Global Markets- division's earnings covering financial performance analysis, changes in business/market environment and key macro environment/industry themes impacting the earnings

- Conduct analysis of the competitive and general macro / market environment based on public data and industry reports used for senior management presentations. Consolidate/analyze.

- Support strategy team seniors / business on ad-hoc projects (for e.g.: impact of changing regulations on capital market business, acquisition screening / evaluation etc)

- Most of the projects require working closely with strategy team members, business CAOs, finance and other functional teams in different regions; working independently or with the support of another member of the team

Key Skills:

- MBA or MS (Finance / Economics) from a top-tier institution

- 3-5 years of relevant work experience in a strategy role, in a consulting firm or a strategy/business planning unit of a financial institution

- Understanding of Wholesale industry (Fixed Income / Equities / Capital markets / Investment Banking) desirable, but not compulsory

- Strong analytical and excel skills

- Strong with powerpoint and presentations

- High quality communication skills

- Attention to detail

- Ability to multi-task efficiently and meet project deadlines
