Department Overview:


- Operations streamlines business performance by integrating and transforming delivery on a global scale to consistently provide superior customer experiences and increase shareholder value.

Operations drives efficiency and risk mitigation through process simplification, functional consolidation, automation, and effective controls.


Operations Utilities:


- Operations Utilities is responsible for managing company-wide utility functions to drive scale, operational efficiency, and consistency while designing and executing improvements to automate processes and support the implementations of internal controls.


Operation Utility - Quality Assurance:


- The objective of the QA team is intended to provide reasonable assurance that the business processes and risk-mitigating controls are operating as designed and expected, and those risks are sufficiently mitigated. Furthermore, these activities should enable proactive self-identification of issues and events, root cause analysis, reporting, and resolution of process and control deficiencies and adverse customer impacts.


- The Quality Assurance (QA) Team, by design, serves as a post transaction quality assurance function, aligning to the definition of a Quality Assurance per the Quality Assurance Policy.


- Quality assurance activities, including the evaluation of transactions, files, or other items to verify consistent application of regulatory and internal policy requirements and to assess the quality of controls. These reviews may be performed manually or through automated means.


Role Context:


- This role within WFIP Utilities Quality assurance leads and grow the Client Due Diligence Investigation Quality assurance group. Individual needs to have a strong subject matter expertise within the team to understand the concept of Financial Crimes including the design and implementation of the processes, policies and procedures.


- Core responsibility will be to manage the teams that supports CDDI Quality assurance group. This incumbent in this role will be expected to demonstrate significant leadership, strong understanding of Financial Crimes domain and will be directly responsible for managing this growth.


- The individual will be expected to build the required structure to support incoming transition, ensure there is robust training during the transition period and team fully understand the process, business being supported, client impact and risk associated with in the process.


- The individual will be required to work under stringent timelines, maintain strong engagement with multiple functions and take ownership of the delivery and getting the processes to a steady state. This will require the incumbent to remain hands on, fully understand the scope of the work and establish adequate governance and oversight.


Key Responsibilities:


- Lead operations to ensure service delivery is undertaken to the required enterprise operations & controls standards to meet the business expectations


- Fully understand the Financial Crimes processes under the remit and ensure there is adequate training and knowledge building within the team to support the business.


- Drive and motivate the team and establish a business and risk focused culture of high performance, ownership, accountability, transparency and sustained performance


- Drive the team towards continuous process improvements, identifying opportunities for increasing productivity, efficiency, accuracy and improving controls and where ideas to eliminate waste are encouraged.


- Build and foster collaborative relationship with business partners and stakeholders. Ensure there is regular connect with key stakeholders to review performance, priorities, and other business initiatives.


- Build a strong operations rhythm where meritocracy and positive behavior is rewarded, there is adequate talent management and succession planning, and staff are encouraged to learn and grow.


- Actively engage with transformation partners to ensure CDDI QA continue to improve on operational risk and reduce manual errors.


- Develop requisite reporting & business metrics to monitor and drive the right outcome for the business operations.


- Demonstrate ability to challenge existing processes where they do not align with the Target Operating model and suggest solutions to bring efficiencies in the process


- Understand the cost of operations and continuously look at opportunities to drive the cost down without impacting the delivery.


- Maintain strong culture of control and conduct and ensure risk is managed proactively and all process have robust business resiliency which is reviewed and tested periodically along with LoB and risk partners.


Skills and Experience Required:


- 12-14 years of experience with 8+ years in leading and managing operations in a global Banking / Financial Services environment, preferably with experience in Financial Crimes area


- Good understanding of Financial Crimes related regulations especially in the US market.


- Strong experience in managing people, developing strong performing teams and mentoring / coaching people to become leaders.


- Exhibits strong relationship/ negotiation orientation with senior level business partners globally.


- Senior level experience in or exposure to change management/ program management/ solutions at global level preferred.


- Ability to work in a matrix environment and managing multiple competing priorities


- Excellent Communication, planning and organizing skills.


- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.


- Strong stakeholder management, networking, and relationship management skills.


- Strong client orientation and understanding of operational risk.


- Ability to drive change and transformation, project management & implementation in business operations.


- Demonstrates a high degree of reliability, integrity, and trustworthiness in all areas


- Takes ownership and accountability for responsibilities, business outcomes, and for management of risk exposure.
