Position Summary:
The Candidate is responsible for performing accounting work required to maintain the Company's general ledger. The Candidate will be responsible for ensuring all the GST compliances are in place along-with coordination with tax consultants and authorities. Additionally, the person will be responsible for the daily activities of recording the revenues, expenditures, assets, and liabilities of the Company quickly and accurately. The candidate should be a highly motivated self-starter with co-ordination, review, and proofing experience.
Major Responsibilities And Duties:
- Co-ordinates daily accounting activities required to maintain the Company's general ledger.
- Works with accounting staff (including, but not limited to, bank reconciliations, statement reconciliations, check runs, accounts receivable transactions, fixed asset activity, payroll, accounts payable transactions, recording of revenue and expenses, etc.).
- Cash management (including placement/movement of funds in bank).
- Maintains organized set of detailed records and files to document financial transactions.
- Resolves accounting issues or assists other personnel in resolving financial issues.
- Reviews general ledger monthly to ensure accuracy of posting.
- Involved in monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities.
- Ensuring annual and monthly GST compliances.
- Developing and evaluating GST and other indirect tax planning opportunities and strategies.
- Assist with the design, improvement, and implementation of process and/or solution capabilities that support indirect tax determination, reporting, and compliance.
- Maintain the relationship with internal and external stakeholders to gather financial information required by the indirect tax department.
- Review and implementation of SOX and IFC controls.
- Makes and implements recommendations to improve accounting processes and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- 2-4 years of experience
- Strong understanding of GST laws and regulations.
- Understanding and hand on experience of using SAP is must.
- Understanding of Indian and US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Ability to implement financial policies and procedures.
- Ability to work independently, with little supervision.
- Ability to analyze financial data and to prepare accurate reports in a timely manner.
- Knowledge and ability in the use of a software applications (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Power BI etc.).
- Ability to effectively use a modern automated financial management system.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain detailed records.
- Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally.
- Ability to work effectively under stressful conditions.
- Ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment and to react with discretion under varying conditions.
