Role Context: A market research analysts role encompasses gathering data and information, analyzing it, and then presenting the findings and forecasts of different industry to the Transformation Team and Senior Leadership Team with clear cut action points. Their recommendations are going to be key to the Foundations strategy roadmap. The Analyst will be a part of the Wadhwani Advantage Research team. Roles & Responsibilities: - The Analyst will be responsible for evaluating sectoral trends, conducting primary and secondary research related to different sectors of the economy and present the findings to the team. - He/she will be actively interacting with industry veterans and key executives of SMEs, industry associations for gathering information on specific industries, job creation, entrepreneurship, and other industry specific developments. - Communicate regularly with research and MIS team - Preparing analytical reports, dashboards and decks for senior leadership - Ensure data quality checks for quantitative data - Participate in webinars, e-conferences, trade meets and interact with entrepreneurs, key executives of SMEs and policy makers to gather information on challenges and opportunities of different industries and report the same to the senior leadership Qualifications, Skills & Experience: - 3-5 years of experience working with top notch equity research firm, knowledge teams of MBB (McKinsey Knowledge Centre, BCG, Bain Capability Centre), market research and consulting firms - Good academic pedigree. Masters degree (MA Economics/ MBA /MA Statistics or equivalent) - Strong industry and company fundamental analysis background is a must - Ability to notice patterns with data and statistics - Capable of spotting new trends/ themes in the lines of business. Excellent analytical and statistical modelling skills, including analyzing large data sets and building forecasts - We are looking for candidates who possess Intrapreneurship mindset, analytical bent of mind To seek why, what and how of a problem statement - Strong attention to detail - To the tedious nature of research in job creation, it is imperative to have expertise in Primary / Secondary Research. Experience in developing and conducting surveys will be essential. Need to participate in Analyst calls and primary interviews - Must demonstrate sense of urgency - Should have experience working with global team - Understand and implement development models appropriate for a given project - Strong analytical skills - Exceptional Communication and interpersonal skills - Cross Cultural Competence - Database Skills - Candidate should be comfortable working with economic database such as CMIEs Prowess IQ, ILOSTAT, FACTIVA, CEIC, INDSTAT, RBIs Database of Indian Economy, Indiastat and other open source datasets. - Software Skills - Excellent Excel Modelling Skills, MS Excel, PowerPoint (must) - Data visualization tools such as Tableau, D3JS, Power BI and Datawrapper (Good to have) - Forecasting &amp; Analysis - R, Python (Good to have)
