VP - Risk/Operational Risk Management & Data Analysis - BFS

Location: IN-Bengaluru

Primarily responsible for recruiting and managing the operational risk data analytics team in Bengaluru which has primary responsibility for operational risk data quality, aggregation and analytics. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for developing, leading and participating in risk data initiatives that will support global operational risk management. Providing team leadership and developing the team are critical elements for ensuring the long term success of the team.

Responsibilities

- Enhancing operational risk data collection to ensure completeness and accuracy. This includes data sourcing, modeling, structuring, consuming and visualization of big data.Analyzing the availability and quality of operational risk data used in risk calculations

- Performing anomaly detections in large data sets, investigating the root cause and recommending corrective actions

- Providing advisory support, testing and documenting new quantitative risk measures

- Engaging with ORMA functions including Operational Risk Supervisors and Operational Risk Specialists and risk committees to explain the results of calculations and provide quantitative advice

- Recruiting, managing, mentoring and developing a team of operational risk professionals

- Interact with regulators and industry bodies to discuss data practices

Responsibilities:

Qualifications, Skills & Aptitude

- Degree in a quantitative field such as mathematics, physics, statistics or engineering

- Good command of mathematics and numerical algorithms. Good knowledge of statistics and time series analysis

- Programming skills and experience with an object oriented programming language such as Java or C++, to the level of performing pricing and building prototype risk analytics/productivity tools.

- Experience or keen interest to develop expertise in risk and capital calculation methodologies

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Self-motivated team player

- Strong leadership skills with experience building and developing a team

- Ability to review regulatory requirements and implement solutions to deliver requirements efficiently and effectively

- Ability to work with technology to design and implement solutions to improve data quality, develop and enhance risk calculations
