VP - Projects - Pharma Plant Ops

Our Client is looking for a passionate and committed project lead at a level of Vice President – Projects, to primarily manage erection & establishment of its pharmaceutical plant at Kazakhstan. The location of work will be Pune with extensive travelling to other parts of the world.

The main responsibility will be to assure that the projects are executed according to agreed scope, time, cost and quality and to customer and authorities’ requirements. Furthermore, he will be responsible for:

- Direction, strategy, planning and execution of company’s manufacturing operations.

- Management of large or complex projects.

- Define and report scope, time, economy and quality on projects.

- Scope management towards the customer, and between the customer and the contractors / suppliers.

- Use of adequate engineering procedures and methods to ensure an effective execution of the engineering process.

- Attend to choose technical solutions and levels in agreement with the customer desires and requirements.

- Secure the project is organized in the most optimal way through the projects life cycle.

- Ensure clear communications to project members, sub-contractors and the customer.

- Secure Project executions plans are established and followed.

- Manage Project Team to high performance through team building & similar performance improvement activities.

- Should be able to work independent, take initiative and be responsible for the entire project

- Work closely with CEO on manufacturing plans, goals, and future product innovations.

- Play and active role in senior-level negotiations with client companies and manufacturing partners.

- Develop and manage budgeting and budget execution with a focus on product costs and margins.

- Direct all production control, production process development, quality systems, purchasing etc.

- Partner with sales team to meet with customers to discuss and set scheduling timelines for product delivery.

Qualification & experience:

- Master or Bachelor of Pharmacy or Engineering background with specialization in any discipline.

- Minimum 15+ years working experience in project management of pharmaceutical Industry.

- Exposed & well versed with project management disciplines and at least 1 project commissioning experience.

- Hands on experience with production of orals & injectable and manufacturing of cephalosporin in particular.

- People with experience within the pharmaceutical or biotech-related industry, will be preferred.

- Exposure to CIS & EUGMP will be preferred.

- Project Management Certification is not a must but preferable.

- Willing to temporarily relocate abroad during the course of project/ plant commissioning.

- Ability to get under the skin of people and demonstrate leadership, tenacity & resilience.

- Work effectively; keeps promises and open to learn from mistakes.

- Clear of what he wants to achieve and have a well-structured approach of work.

- Zeal to perform things and high achievement orientation.
