About our Client : Our client is a global investment bank with a strong presence in growing markets. Prolonged success in such markets and a strong balance sheet has positioned them for continued expansion. They are looking for a VP Product Control to join their team in Chennai, which is in line with their initiative at creating global roles out of the Indian market
Job Description: Reporting to the SVP-Product Control, your key responsibilities include:
- Analyzing weekly P&L with detailed presentation to management directed towards position movements
- Monitoring and analyzing daily movements in positions in each rates and credit books and understanding desk strategy for update to senior management
- Market risk positions' and movements' commentaries to be discussed with internal stakeholders
- Month end closing of accounts and balance sheet sign off
- Working with junior staff to get them understand products, processes and controls that are in place and helping them move faster up the learning curve
- Implementing fair value hierarchy and other requirements of IAS 39 and FAS 133 Implementing Banking book accounting and available for sale adjustments under IAS 39
The Successful Candidate:
- You are a Qualified CA with 9-12 years overall experience and 5+ years experience in Product Control itself. Extensive knowledge of both middle office and front office processes in interest rate and FX linked derivatives is required.
- Technical awareness of Visual basic, MS excel, Visual basic, SQL, and other Microsoft office software is highly preferred.
- Additionally, prior experience in setting up and leading large teams is a must.
