About Our Client

Our client is a global investment bank with a strong presence in growing markets. Prolonged success in such markets and a strong balance sheet has positioned them for continued expansion. They are looking for a seasoned product control professional as part of their growing setup in Chennai, which is in line with their initiative at creating global roles out of the Indian market.

Job Description

Reporting to the Director-Product Control, your key responsibilities include:

- Detailed analysis of daily P&L with commentary to desk on risk positions and market movements.

- Monitoring and analyzing daily movements in positions in each rates and credit books and understanding desk strategy for update to senior management

- Continuous liaising with trading desks for regular breaks resolution and B/S substantiation

- Analyzing weekly P&L with detailed presentation to management on weekly P&L and position movements

- Month end closing of accounts and balance sheet sign off

- Helping junior staff getting better understanding of products, processes and controls that are in place and helping them move faster up the learning curve

- Implementing fair value hierarchy and other requirements of IAS 39 and FAS 133

- Implementing Banking book accounting and available for sale adjustments under IAS 39

The Successful Applicant

You are a Qualified CA with 10 + years overall experience and 5+ years experience in Product Control itself. Extensive knowledge of both middle office and front office processes in interest rate and fx linked OTC derivatives is required. Excellent knowledge of MS excel, Visual basic, SQL, MS Access, MS Project and other Microsoft office software is expected. Prior experience in setting up and managing large teams would be highly advantageous.
