VP Operations - US Mortgage
I currently have an assignment for a VP Operations - US Mortgage Role.
The client is looking at someone who have strong exposure in US Mortgage….. Origination (Loan Setup, Underwriting and Docs Drawing) upto servicing. not looking for someone with only collections experience.
Job Summary:
- The Operations SVP is responsible for leading, coaching, and developing a staff of (Large Size Teams) associates and Leaders and to ensure that all transactions are completed by the Transaction Operations Team in an accurate, timely and cost effective manner.
Essential Job Functions:
- Review statistical reporting to ensure that transactions are being processed in a timely manner. Keep track of backlog items, assess reasons for backlog. Identify and resolve trends or training issues.
- Review productivity and quality of individuals within the team. Reevaluate and adjust standards as the business grows and changes. Define new productivity standards to accommodate business changes.
- Maintain a productive relationship with related departments within both United States and India, meeting regularly with management of other groups to ensure that all goals are being met in the most effective way possible.
- Investigate all major discrepancies that occur as a result of Transaction Operations errors. Give feedback to associates on errors, ensure that all necessary training is being given to ensure associate success.
- Continuously assess Transaction Operations procedures to ensure that they are as effective as possible. Adjust workflow to accommodate changing business needs. Shift human resources to meet daily and overall transaction processing goals. Identify the current competencies of each member and provide training and development in required skill areas. Develop action plans or initiate corrective action as necessary.
- Work with each associate to develop and act upon a development plan to ensure that each individual has an opportunity to achieve their performance goals.
- Promote team work and responsiveness of individuals in their areas of responsibility through support and coaching. Hold regularly scheduled one-on-ones with each associate to assist in associate development and career planning.
- Assess needs for training to enhance job performance of team members. Coordinate with the Training department to schedule individual as well as group training sessions.
- Implement productivity or procedure enhancements as well as administer existing policies and controls.
- Ensure that all regulatory guidelines are met. Failure to do so may result in plan disqualification, corporate losses, and fund dilutions.
- Ensure that all department policies and procedures are followed correctly. Failure to do so may result in corporate losses or fund dilutions.
- Ensure that all reporting of statistical information is completed in a timely and accurate manner. The manager must develop strong, professional relationships with the following groups: Process sharing groups in USA and India, Auditors, Correspondence Representatives, Implementation Project Managers, Systems testing, Quality groups, Transition management as well as their Managers, and Work leaders in operating sites.
Qualification:
- Masters degree in Business Administration preferred
- Leadership experience of over 12 + years in Mortgage, financial or service industry.
- Experience of managing AVP / Managers
- Experience in participating or leading projects
- Previous financial operations experience or mortgage industry experience preferred
