VP - Legal Offshore - BFSI

Position : VP Offshore Legal

Head Offshore Legal and Secretarial is to provide in depth support and advice from an off shoring perspective on corporate, equities and transactional law, ISDA, corporate secretarial and manage and expand a team of lawyers and administrators in Mumbai.

- This groups provide contract support, manage and mitigate transaction and counterparty specific legal and documentation risk through the use of industry-standard master agreements and transaction-level documentation for over-the-counter (OTC) transactions.

- Lastly, the group is also providing corporate secretarial support to the other regions. This role will be pivotal in hiring and establishing the expanding team and working to ensure a smooth transition of key roles from the regions to Mumbai.

Supporting the regional teams such as:

- EMEA - Corporate Legal / Secretarial / Documentation (ISDA)

- US - Corporate Legal / Secretarial/ Documentation

- AEJ - Corporate Secretarial / Equities Legal

- Tokyo - Corporate Secretarial

In addition the role will have to:

- Have hands-on experience in managing a growing team of about 20

- Budgets, presentations, general administrative tasks to ensure smooth functioning and running of a Corporate department

Position Specification:

Desired Experience (in years): 14 years +

Qualifications: A Law degree from a reputed university in India and abroad, Company Secretary Qualifications would be an added advantage

Key Skills:

- Excellent verbal and written communication

- International experience desirable. Experience from having worked in a law firm and a bank / financial institution

- At least 14 years- experience of which at least 6 years should have been in the financial services industry or bank.

- Management experience - International preferable.
