VP - Legal & Compliance - BFSI

We are hiring for one of the leading Life insurance groups in India.

Position : VP Legal and compliance

Location : Gurgaon

Require people from Life insurance background only.

Preferable - Law graduate (Not compulsory)

Responsibilities :

The position will manage and oversee the legal, and compliance functions within the organization and provide legal and compliance support to various functions, with a view to managing and mitigating legal, regulatory and contractual risks arising from the business and operations.

- Lead the Legal and Compliance team by providing the requisite subject matter and management expertise required to turn around the functional responsibilities within the expected timelines.

- Promote collaborative approach to problem solving whereby the function appreciates business requirements and makes efforts to provide compliant and workable solutions within the risk appetite when faced with restrictions under the extant regulations.

- Promote team work by involving team members in work related decision making and launching staff engagement initiatives within the team

- Identify learning and development opportunities for self and team members to ensure competence of the team to handle and deliver functional responsibilities and facilitate succession planning

Oversees the following functions/activities within the organisation as per the roles mentioned below against these:

(i) Disemmination of advertisements and promotional material as Compliance Officer under the IRDA (Insurance Advertisements and Disclosure) Regulations

(ii) Anti Money Laundering initiatives and processes as the Principal Compliance Officer under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002
