VP - Legal - Cement/Steel/Mfg

Job Description

1. This position is responsible for designing and implementing a Legal Compliance Mechanism and adhering to competition laws through VCCE (Value Creation in Competitive Environment);

2. Review of effectiveness of legal compliances by conducting audit to mitigate the legal risks;

3. Drafting, vetting and approving certain significant agreements such as leave & license, lease, distributorship, outsourcing various activities, transportation, chartered party, EPC contracts, sale & purchase of various items for construction of manufacturing facilities;

4. Overseeing relevant ICS controls;

5. Standardization of various contracts to be followed across the organization, regularly conducting lecture programs to impart need based legal education to various segments within the organisation and leading the legal department within the organization to ensure overall internal customer satisfaction.

6. This includes providing regular legal advice to the internal customers and the regional legal teams to ensure adherence to all legal norms in the day to day running of the organization and to strategise all legal actions regarding the legal proceedings in the overall interest of the company.

7. Handling litigation (civil & criminal) and thorough conversance with labour laws, competition laws, commercial laws, environmental laws, etc is a pre-requisite.
