The Vice President - Operations will have the responsibility to fully understand the assigned activities, in the bank's Securities Services Operations, GBM Service Centre, facilitate the migration of new processes and play a key part in identifying synergies for improvements within the various processes. The individual will be responsible for managing existing processes, in addition to new migrations/remigrations that are planned through the year. The job will necessitate contact and developing close working relationships with the onshore management team and KL, Colombo and Manila bank's Securities Services Operations Management team, supported from Kolkata.

Job Description

Responsible for management of staff at bank's Securities Services Operations, GBM Services Centre Kolkata across multiple time zones and across any of the below functions.

These functions include the following across Asia, Europe, Middle East and U.S.:

- GAV & NAV – Traditional and Hedge Funds

- Trade Processing & Reconciliation – Traditional and Hedge Funds

- Income Processing & Stock, Cash Reconciliation – Traditional

- Portfolio Valuation & Reconciliation - Fund of Funds

- Transfer Agency

- CnC

- Statutory Reporting

- FoHF


- Establish robust processes to ensure that deliverables are met as per the agreed PLA.

- Develop management reporting to monitor and analyze errors against the inherent risks in the process and implement suitable controls to mitigate such risks

- Continually re-assess the operational risks inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practice, management restructuring and the impact of new technology

- Comply with all internal/regulatory reporting requirements on a timely basis

- Ensure business partner issues / escalations are addressed promptly and within reasonable timeline

- Develop working relationship with Business Partners to identify areas where the team in Colombo can provide added benefits to the business locations and manage Business Partner expectations

- Develop and manage a culture of CQI and the related metrics

- Foster & encourage teamwork, staff participation and contribution towards process improvements and controls

- Streamline processes necessary to increase efficiency and/or reduce costs

- Explore means to introduce job-rotation and cross-training between processing units to provide job-enrichment to the administrators and people Manager’s.

- Appropriate educational qualification / practical experience / maturity. Higher qualification not a bar provided aspirations commensurate with the position.

Professional Skills & Experience

Candidate will have extensive working experience in the securities industry, to include:

- Knowledge of clients and products across range of securities services

- Management position with exposure to business partners across multiple geographical locations

- Management position with exposure to remuneration, performance management, team building and staff development.

- Fund Administration and or Custody, focusing on back and/or middle office is preferred
