VP/Head - Credit Analytics/Management -India Leader
Role Summary/Purpose :
In this new role, the Vice President, Credit India Leader will lead a growing team of professionals contributing to credit, collections and fraud strategies, strategy implementation, model development and governance activities. Reporting to the Deputy Chief Credit Officer, this role will interact with executive leadership and cross-organization business teams to drive Synchrony's strategic vision of leveraging data and advanced analytics to improve the customer experience and P & L performance while satisfying Synchrony's risk appetite. As a people leader, this role is critical to developing talent, building a future pipeline, and breaking down silos to cross train and create career pathing for the growing team.
Essential Responsibilities :
- Partner with the Credit and Capital Management senior leadership team to drive and execute the full Credit and Capital Management life cycle, including but not limited to, credit, collections and fraud strategies, implementation of strategies, model development, governance and reserves and loss forecasting
- Leverage analytics and data in creation of credit, collections, and fraud strategies to maximize P& L performance and satisfy risk appetite
- Contribute to and drive agile developments and enhancements to our system platforms enabling Synchrony to connect more data to the point of decision while meeting core strategy needs
- Contribute to and drive 1st line Credit life cycle governance related activities
- Lead a team of 100+ professionals, providing mentorship, guidance, engagement, career pathing and development opportunities
- Develop, present, and explain the value and vision of proposed solutions to cross-business senior leaders and stakeholders
- Provide thought leadership in various initiatives/projects
- Promote innovation and support the team from ideation to execution
Qualifications/Requirements :
- Bachelor's degrees and 12+ years of Financial Services industry experience in credit card and/or consumer financial risk/credit management and analytics
- Minimum of 8 years' experience managing a large team of professionals
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique and coordination of people and resources
- Strong data analytics skills
- Proven results at driving change and effectively communicating in a matrixed environment across all levels of the organization
Desired Characteristics :
- MBA and/or master's degree with advanced analytic focus, or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of SAS, R or Python programming skills and big data
- Independent judgment with strong analytical and risk assessment skills
- Experience collaborating, communicating, and influencing different stakeholders to drive inclusion, efficiency, and creative solutions
- High energy and self-motivated, especially in a dynamic, fast paced environment
