Set Skills - "FX Operation"

- Develop short, medium and long term strategy in conjunction with the Global FX Operational heads

- Translate the FX Operations and CIB Operations objectives into strategic and tactical plans and implement them across the teams

- Work with industry leaders to change and adapt the strategy for FX Operations as business and regulatory trends change

- Development and implementation of department wide policies and procedures, and responsibility for directing day-to-day operations

- Provide oversight on the teams’ performance to ensure daily tasks are carried out in an efficient manner and adhere to controls through interpreting KRI and KPI.

- Engage the stakeholders and Team, and be seen as the Subject matter Expert (SME) for escalations and issue resolution.

- Analyse situations and make sound decisions with guidance from the Escalation Policy and work together with the Risk and Control Teams for operational and strategic decision making process.

- Continual review of existing processes to ensure exceptional performance, efficiency and risk management. Carry out complex analysis to identify innovative ways to improve straight-through processing, client experience, performance against regulatory targets and the firm’s standing against its peers.

- Build and maintain relationships with head's of clusters and business units managers

- Understand the specific requirements of client groups and ensure model support alignment

- Ensure full transparency around costs, transfer pricing models, budgets etc

- Oversee the monitoring and tracking of IT “Run The Bank” KPI’s and KRI’s

- Define policies, frameworks and rules of engagement required to optimise interactions and ensure collaboration.

- Oversee the Creating and Maintaining of Operational Controls. Involved in refining, maintaining control policies.

- Ensure volume and capacity management trends are understood and managed

- Ensure strive for maximum STP across all product flows and payment streams

- Drive the change agenda to deliver maximum efficiency

- Ensure engagement with business to support new business products and lines

- Strive to implement utilities or centres of excellence where possible

- Excellent product knowledge of FX. MM and NDF,. Articulate high level overview of processes and issues to senior management as well as a focus on detail with AVP’s/Analysts in recognising control/training gaps

- Perform people management functions, including but not limited to:

- workforce and recruitment demand planning

- recruitment, training and ongoing development of staff

- talent management and succession planning

- mentoring and coaching

- management of discipline and grievances

- performance development

- reward and recognition management

- Ensure all applicable governance, compliance, risk policies and procedures are adhered to and a mechanism exists to promote escalation by staff where appropriate.

- Review and update the departments organisation structure and role profiles regularly

- Ensure that Code of Good Practice targets are met for the team and within agreed timescales

- Ensure satisfactory service delivery and equal distribution of workloads in the teams

- Effective management of operational costs to ensure the function is performed within budget. Proactively identify opportunities to lower operating costs, whilst maintaining performance.

- Ensure compliance to policies, legislation and regulations and that staff compliance training and attestations are in place

- Active member of FX Operations management team. Full participation in discussions regarding the global footprint, and the strategic direction of the group as a whole. Leadership and involvement in firm wide people initiatives, with particular focus on the development and replication of these initiatives in Mumbai.

- Foster strong working relationships with both internal (i.e. FO, Audit, Compliance, Legal and Finance) and external counterparts (i.e. Regulators, External Audit and Customers). Confident communication (written, verbal / presentations). Effective management of key client relationships and promotion of Bank Operations as a differentiating factor from its peers.

- Leading by example - Oversight of staff and processes that monitor high frequency / real time transaction flow, trade updates, and exception queues to ensure that trades are flowed timely from front to back systems.

Accountability: Execution of Ad-hoc Requirements

- Develop strong understanding of regulatory environment and be aware of recent regulatory changes applicable for OTC market and execute relevant trade regulatory reporting.

- Manage principle risk with regards to Global FX operations. Plan and execute risk mitigating procedures. On a regular basis, report and discuss the results of your risk management.

- Liaise with Stakeholders to provide good customer service and promptly respond to queries

- Undertake and Initiate Project initiatives and UAT testing when required.
