Role. - VP/Head of Finance

We are the leading student housing platform globally, with 1M+ student housing units listed in 6 countries and across 80 cities. We are growing rapidly and targeting $1B in annual gross bookings value by 2024.

Role:

1. Accounting & Reporting

- Statutory Reporting (GAAP / Accounting Standards): Extensive experience with statutory financial reporting, including a strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or other global accounting standards.

- Management Reporting for Internal Stakeholders: Proficient in creating insightful management reports that drive decision-making for senior leadership and other key internal stakeholders.

2. Big 4 Audit Exposure - Proven experience working with or being audited by top-tier audit firms (PwC, Deloitte, EY, KPMG), ensuring rigorous financial and compliance standards.

3. Cross Border Business Exposure - Demonstrated experience in managing international business transactions, including a solid understanding of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) regulations and the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA). Knowledge of forms such as FCGPR and FCTRS is an advantage.

4. Digital Business Experience - Hands-on experience in managing financial operations in digital or tech-driven businesses, such as e-commerce or digital transformation projects.

5. Treasury Management - Expertise in managing corporate treasury functions, including cash flow management, risk assessment, foreign exchange, and debt management.

6. Tax Expertise - Strong knowledge of indirect taxation (GST), transfer pricing, and related tax regulations. Experience with managing compliance and strategies to mitigate tax risks.

- Experience with Place of Effective Management (POEM) protection tax rules, which determine the residency of a company for tax purposes.

7. Regulatory Compliance - Well-versed in managing regulatory compliance, particularly within financial, legal, and governance frameworks.

8. Fund-Raising Experience

- Solid background in fundraising, including preparing data for investors, collaborating with investment banks, and handling due diligence processes. Expertise in both debt and equity financing is a plus.

9. Post Fund-Raise Shareholder Management - Ability to manage relationships with shareholders, understanding their requirements and maintaining transparent communications post-fundraising.

1. Business Partnering with Impact - Proven experience in strategic business partnering that goes beyond standard approaches.

The candidate should have contributed meaningfully to the growth or transformation of businesses through financial leadership.

2. Ability to Articulate Business Insights - The candidate should be able to communicate complex financial data in a manner that is understandable and actionable for business leaders, with a strong focus on broader business strategy rather than just numbers.
