VP/Head - Engineering - eCommerce - IIT

We are looking for a Head Engineering (VP) for this planned e-commerce venture.

Job purpose:

To speedily, reliably, and cost-effectively deliver all software and hardware requirements of the business – across e-Commerce products/services, Enterprise Apps, and Data analytics. Will be responsible for building and leading the engineering team that spans all the three domains (e-Commerce products, Enterprise Apps, and Data analytics).

Principal accountabilities:

- Build and manage the engineering department

- Work closely with Product Management head on design and requirements specification, roadmap of features and functionality, gauging the resourcing requirements

- Convert requirements and expectations into concrete project plans and assign resources to deliver on timelines (decide on outsourcing and manage outsourcing partners as required)

- Program manage the entire effort across all software and hardware requirements of the business

- Meet routinely with direct reports to track performance, establish goals, and provide mentorship

- Work closely with CEO and other function heads on Enterprise Apps

- Establish and manage team for supporting Data analytics (as per requirements of functions such as Product Management, Marketing, and B&M)

Core Skills:

- Program Management

- Software product development (particularly Agile/ Iterative development)

- Managing large team of engineers

- Familiarity with e-Commerce technologies, Cloud computing, Infrastructure planning & optimization

- Cross-functional orientation

Qualification

- B.Tech from IIT

- Prior experience in leading Engineering teams in e-Commerce space (or a similar space)

- 10+ years experience (Age of 32-35 years)

Salary: Not a constraint for right candidate, A best in class combination of fixed +variable +esop's.
