Responsible for the Purchase function to meet business requirements of the region.
- Understanding the Purchase requirements of all the regions based on the business plans.
- Forecasting the upcoming demand.
- Proficient at Civil & MEP Purchases especially in Building & Factories projects.
- Timely meeting the Purchase requirement for each region
- Ensure compliance to Project budgets and provide analysis for deviations.
- Ensure adequate resources for all Projects to improve quality of work and pricing of material.
- Develop and implement new strategies for delivering optimum solutions with respect to cost and inventory.
- Process orientation & knowledge of ERP in Material Mgmnt.
- Management of optimum inventory of material at the region.
- Negotiation skills for big volume purchases.
- Vendor development and Vendor management
- Responsible for the Inventory management and Project stores.
- Understanding and laying processes for Inventory and Stores function.
- Maintain the quality control norms of the Organisation.
- Research new material suitable for projects and cost savings.
- Responsible for team management.
- Develop and implement new purchasing strategies to deliver ongoing cost reductions and process simplification
- Maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers
- Establish new relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure adequate resources for all projects and to continually improve pricing and quality of work
- Assist in ensuring awareness and company compliance to all building codes and local construction guidelines
- Leverage technology, safety measures, and information sharing to increase productivity and profitability
- Assist in settling invoice or contract disputes
- Forecast upcoming demand
- Maintain sub/supplier information on company online management systems
Key Skills, Knowledge, Experience and Competencies: (i.e. those (including qualifications) required to fulfil role
- B.Tech/ B.E Civil with 25+ years of work experience on GC and DnB contracts.
- Experience of leading Purchase function preferably in Contracting cos.
- Vendor Development and Vendor management skill.
- Understanding of QS and BOQ.
- Understanding of the project commercials and contracts.
- Excellent commercial acumen and negotiation skill.
- ERP and Software knowledge for Purchase function.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to deliver to set deadlines
- Proven ability in multitasking and prioritising workload.
- Proven ability in judgement / decision making on a variety of issues within tight deadlines.
- Team management skills
- Proficient in MS Office applications
Essential:
