Complete ownership of the overall delivery of Finance Control controls programme relating to Finance within stipulated timelines and with quality

- Stakeholder management

- Finance team based in India, including Product FTC and global Finance Control stakeholders

- Process/Control owners involved in the Finance Control FTC

- Wider CCO CBP team of India Finance, CCO CBP team in US & UK

- India CCO management

- Drives consistency in approach across the global teams and the Group as a whole

- Ensure efficiency in all deliverables to create capacity to absorb more work with the same team strength

- Contribute effectively to any restructuring requirement of the team organisation structure

- Act as advisor to the Product Control business on control matters

- Manage conflicting demands and priorities through effective planning and sound judgement

What will you be doing?

- Overall responsible for designing & execution of Controls & governance

- Facilitate & co-ordinate for implementation of Risk & control self-assessment (RCSA) for Finance teams

- Create and enhance control awareness across Finance through trainings, workshops etc.

- Perform deep dives/ reviews to identify any potential control gaps & help business to mitigate them, if any

- Trusted advisor for various control policies & standards applicability, impact, adherence etc.

- Advise Finance teams on Risk events, control issues etc. and help them to mitigate any discrepancies identified

- Responsible for execution of annual CCAR CFO attestation testing plan for India portion

- Co-ordinate with various stakeholders with walkthrough and gather relevant information

- Perform control testing using CCAR testing methodology and report any issues / observations

- Organise & run Finance governance forums - Monthly/Quarterly CRM (Control Review Meetings)

- Ensure compliance with applicable policies globally across GFD

- Act as Subject Matter Expert to ensure that all policies are interpreted and implemented as per Group guidelines

- Perform continuous governance and oversight and update Finance Leadership

What we're looking for:

- Bachelor's degree or Post Graduate (CA/MBA or equivalent)/ Risk management qualification with an experience of relevant years equivalent work experience.

- Practical experience of internal control and operational risk management

- Comprehensive understanding of governance and control frameworks and processes, and all aspects of operational risk management.

- Ability to communicate internal control concepts clearly, in a business context

- Experience in assessing design and operating effectiveness of operational controls

- Impeccable problem-solving and communication skills, including experience presenting to senior level leadership

- Strong analytical skills with operational background

Skills that will help you in the role:

- Proven leadership experience in an Operational Control environment or Risk and Control role

- Credibility and gravitas to challenge and coach upwards, horizontally as well as own leadership of team members; facilitate the effective collaboration of cross-functional teams

- Experience in financial services and specifically the Global Markets products sets and business, with a wide ranging understanding of the Investment Banking Markets and Trading business globally and associated risks specifically.

- Proven depth of expertise in strategy execution, with experience of leading change across global and cross-functional teams.

- Proven track record of working successfully in different cultures in a sensitive manner in order to create strong working relationships with key senior stakeholders.

- Strong working knowledge of the regulations and standards of relevant industry bodies and organizations.

- Experience of continuous process and control improvement for both efficiency and risk management purposes.

- Collaborative and able to share best practices at all levels.

- Able to cope under pressure, managing a wide range of priorities with multiple objectives.

- Politically astute and able to understand the dynamics of large, complex organizations.

- Highly effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
