VP - Equities Middle Office - Inv Bank

Client – Large Global Bank

Job Title – Vice President - Equities Middle Office

Job Location – Mumbai

Job Purpose:

- Management of the Mumbai Equities Middle Office teams including the Cash Equity Pre Match, Cash and Derivative Sales Support and Derivative Life cycle management teams

- Day to day running of the Mumbai office from an Equities Operations perspective facing off to local, India and global stakeholders with appropriate resource allocation for various functions at the right levels and for the right shifts

- Management of staff – including hiring, training & development, career progression and mobility, managing attrition risk, ensuring highest performance driven out of Mumbai team

- Act as an effective escalation point on the ground, ensuring appropriate communication to senior business and Operations stakeholders at all times

- Represent the Mumbai office on the global Equities Operations agenda, as well as act as the Equities Operations representative in the Local Mumbai management

- Collaboration with India management and onshore management to drive the Change agenda for improved efficiency, controls and risk mitigation

- This is a challenging role with a wide variety of vanilla and exotic products and high volumes environment with various deadlines to meet on a daily basis, candidate must be able to think on their feet and have a high level of competency in many skill sets

Technical Skills/Competencies:

- Proven experience of managing medium size teams and processes

- Strong track record of managing people, and working with senior stakeholders within the business and wider infrastructure organization

- Extensive Cash Equity and Equity Derivatives product knowledge, including exotic derivatives

- Detailed experience (breadth and depth) of managing variety of middle office functions

Experience / Qualifications:

- Minimum Experience of 10 -12 years

Specific experience in managing Operations teams, with exposure to global front / middle office teams in investment banking

- Extensive Cash Equity and Equity Derivatives product knowledge
