VP - Digital Analytics and Strategy

1. JOB PURPOSE

Establish Digital Analytics Capability:

- Talent: Hire and Train the appropriate resources

- Guide investments in technology to enable successful setup of the capability

- Participate in business development efforts to help cross-sell the capability to existing clients

- Manage delivery of the Digital Analytics engagements and associated revenue/client relationships

Accountabilities/Major Activities/Key Performance Indicators

Lead Digital Analytics Product Development efforts, and develop this into a revenue stream

- Product Licensing revenue Vs. Target

- Number of customers signed up for the Product vs. Target

Support Business Development Efforts to cross-sell Digital Analytics capabilities to existing clients

- New business revenue Vs. Target

- Number of clients signed up for Digital Analytics vs. Target

- Manage delivery of Digital Analytics engagements

- Customer Satisfaction Survey results Vs. Desired

- Business Impact (USD) delivered to Client.

- Responsible for hiring and training to help establish Digital Analytics Delivery Capability

- Responsible for guiding investments in technology etc to enable a successful Digital Analytics Capability Setup

7. DIMENSIONS

Financial Dimensions

This is a new capability that we’re investing in, and expect the Client/FTE/Revenue numbers to increase as the capability is established. For Year 1, we expect:

- Client: 4-6 clients to be cross-sold Digital Analytics capabilities via consulting / annuity projects

- FTE: 20-30, with expansion in year 2

- Revenue: USD 1-1.5MM from cross-sell efforts to existing clients in Year 1; with rapid growth expected in Year 2

8. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

(Mention the basic minimum entry level requirements for this job in terms of educational qualifications, professional experience and competencies)

Educational Qualifications

- Masters Degree in Statistics, Math, Operations research or other related field, PhD a plus, or

- Bachelors in computer science engineering from premier engineering schools like IITs, or

- MBAs from premier institutes like IIMs

Functional Skills

- Web Analytics and Digital media Analytics (including social and mobile media)

- Familiarity with statistical modeling, direct/digital marketing test designs, and audience segmentation

- Working knowledge of data extraction and manipulation tools such as SAS, SPSS, SQL, Microsoft Excel, and/ or others

- Expert in site behavioral analysis tools and platforms, specifically Omniture, WebTrends, Coremetrics, Google Analytics, Doubleclick, Foresee, NetInsights etc

- Expert in social listening tools and platforms, specifically Radian6, Nielsen Buzzmetrics, Alterian Techrigy, TNS Cymfony, or others

- Expert in online display advertising tools and platforms, specifically DFA / DART / DoubleClick, Atlas, Yahoo!, Eye Blaster, or others

- Understands HTML, JavaScript, and web protocols and comfortable technically troubleshooting digital data capture methods

- Ability to articulate strategic marketing implications of performance results for business audiences with clarity and persuasiveness

- Client presence and history of building relationships with client's analytics and data management staff

- Balances desire for quantitative rigor with realities of inconsistent business data

- Experience developing innovative measurement and analytical techniques to optimize digital clients marketing programs for greater business success

- Experience mentoring a team of analysts and managing their career paths and aspirations

Relevant and total years of Experience

- 12+ years of experience, including significant digital expertise

- 5-8 years experience in Web analytics or Digital Strategy role with firms like Yahoo Labs, Google, Amazon, Paypal or any of the leading e-commerce sites (e.g. Jabong, Flipkart etc)
