About Risk Analytics

Risk Analytics is a shared services function providing full range of Services from Model Development/Implementation and support. Risk Analytics supports all Business Units in BUK and BCI. Risk Analytics is a global organisation located in major locations such as London, Leeds, Northampton, Wilmington, NYC and Noida.

About Data Management

Data Management is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and quality of data flowing into risk regulatory reporting. Working with IIT we ensure that data is made available in simple easily accessible data structures that can be used by risk modelling and reporting areas.

Data Management is responsible for managing change into the risk production environment for risk capital, impairment, CRA and risk driven operational feeds. We are responsible for ensuring that only fully automated, tested and signed off products are released.

Overall purpose of role

Leadership:

- The role is within the Risk Information Services Unit and covers RIS delivery across two critical portfolios - and Europe Retail

- The overall and Europe Retail Team is responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of all Regulatory and Credit Risk MI

- This role requires senior leadership and requires the mentor to manage and mentor the & Europe RIS unit within GAU to enable timely and appropriate MI & analysis for all credit risk requirements

- Incumbent needs to work with global and local stakeholders to drive the One Risk TOM, provide support for BCBS239 implementation by year-end 2015 deadline

- Coach and mentor team to build best-in-class RIS tools for and Europe portfolios.

Delivery, Automation, Driving Process Improvements

- Delivery of monthly Risk Analytics packs& provide expertise and analytical guidance to CRO teams around design and presentation of Risk Information; participate in Risk Analytics calls with CRO teams to review portfolio performance for & Europe businesses;

- Responsible for accurate and timely delivery of all critical Regulatory and Portfolio retail risk MI, quarterly and annual statements, and the accompanying commentary for and Europe Retail Businesses

- Drive on-going productivity, benefits through MI automation (CIR, MI Sharepoint, Self-Serve MI etc), and through driving process improvements in data Drive process management and documentation to build back-up planning to ensure operational continuity and resilience and satisfy audit requirements. Drive innovation to improve productivity and reduce cycle times. The reports must be ready with zero-error and meet Business deadlines. Drive best-in-class Quality control measures to eliminate errors in regular MIS pack and any Ad-hoc reports.

- Build excellent professional relationship with internal and external Stakeholders.

- Drive improvements in MI design and presentation by proposing best-in-class templates, producing comparisons with other financial institutions using publicly available data

Project Management

- Demonstrate outstanding project management skills to understand new requirements, resource adequately and deliver the requirements with zero error and within timeframes. This is especially critical given that many of the changing requirements are regulator-driven. Demonstrate suitable organisational and negotiating skills to get appropriate resource allocation and set realistic timeframes.

Key Accountabilities

Service Delivery (40%)

- Help ensure regular and timely delivery of credit Risk MI packs for and Europe Retail portfolios

- Support investigations, business analysis and making recommendations for the development and implementation of new MI/Tools

- Ensure accurate MI is produced to meet Group and other regulatory requirements

- Ensure process documentation for all projects, in order to retain information, aide knowledge sharing, knowledge transfer, etc.

- Support the development and maintenance of complex databases/data marts to enable the production MI. Support in data migration activities

- Support Data Management, ensuring the integrity of the supporting databases and associated processes

Project Planning and Prioritization (20%)

- Work collaboratively with Business Stakeholders and Application Owners to understand, prioritise, challenge and agree business requirements

- Engage with on-shore partners and business heads to scope out MI projects in line with business expectation

- Ensure effective allocation and utilisation of resources across the team in order to maximise effectiveness.

Team Management (20%)

- Manage and mentor the existing team members and recruit new team membersManage relationship with all internal and external stakeholders

- Formulate long term plans for the development of the team.

- Conduct intensive coaching sessions with the team members.

- Create and maintain a culture of empowerment and professionalism within the team.

Relationship Management (10%)

- Establish and drive effective relationship with key stakeholders across businesses served.

Controls and Compliance (10%)

- Ensure adherence to and compliance with governance, risk policies, procedures and compliance policies.

Person Specification

Skills and Competencies

Essential

- Expertise in credit risk reporting, including regulatory reporting in multiple jurisdictions.

- Ability to lead large team of analysts.

- Sound knowledge of all credit risk indicators and capital / impairment reporting regulations.

- Aptitude for using statistical programming techniques

Preferred

- Strong understanding of retail banking portfolios from credit, fraud, finance, and marketing perspective. Prior experience of Cards / Loans portfolios would be helpful

- Prior experience of managing teams

- Great leader in talent management, communication and influencing

Knowledge and Expertise

Essential

- Awareness of the financial services industry.

- Extensive knowledge of portfolio analytics.

- Strong analytical, technical and/or statistical skills

Preferred

- Knowledge of Credit and Fraud Industry Product lines

- Knowledge of portfolio and customer dynamics

Experience and Qualifications

Essential

- Relevant experience in credit risk

- Relevant years of team management experience. Strong analytical background, data driven, results oriented

- Recruitment, mentoring and talent management skills

Preferred

Masters in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Operational Research, CA, Engineer, MBA
