VP - Data Management - People management - SAS/SQL (Diversity)

- The Data management lead is responsible for executing data strategy for the organization by building out curated data layers, maintaining and enhancing them.

- Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within the area of data engineering and management.

- Define and enforce standards around which data generators and consumers operate.

- Should possess nuanced stakeholder management capabilities.

- Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas.

- Has responsibility for volume, quality, timeliness and delivery of end results.

- Full management responsibility of a team, which may include management of people, budget and planning, to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary and terminations and may include budget approval.

Responsibilities:

- This function covers incumbents responsible for various data activities, which include database administration, data analysis, maintenance, data quality, and database management or database architecture / design engineering

- Day-to-day focus is on resolution of complex problems or transactions, where expertise is required to interpret against policies, guidelines or processes

- Role at this level usually has full ownership for one or more processes, reports, procedures or products, and may also be considered analytical or procedural experts representing a unit or team on cross-function process or project deliverables

- May supervise day-to-day work of junior level employees

- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding the company, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Qualifications :

- 14-20 years of experience

- Experience developing and implementing analytical strategies

- Knowledge of consumer financial services regulatory environment required

- Track record of analytics innovation, data management, and new solution development

- Experience developing and implementing analytical strategies in the financial services industry

- In-depth understanding of the various financial service business models

- Expert knowledge of advanced statistical tools and techniques

Education - Bachelors/University degree, Master's degree preferred
