Job Description:

Corporate Affairs

Strategy and Operational Plans (15%)

- Support Shared Services’ business goals and geographical growth plans by developing internal and external communications strategies

- Design and deliver the implementation of this strategy through plans, operating procedures and policies consistent with GRB guidelines and values

- Build, deliver and refresh employee engagement plans and activities to underpin key business goals and messages

- Brand build through collateral material – site branding, media, employee newsletter and corporate films.

Team Leadership (10%)

- Deliver effective management of risk, governance, compliance and control issues across the team, including strong cost management and delivery to budget

- Build, Lead, and develop the Corporate Affairs Team; set challenging goals that underpin the business aims

- Coach and mentor the team, ensure development plans are in place for the team and build succession plans at each level.

Internal Communications & Employee Engagement (10%)

- To create, direct and manage a portfolio of internal communication (IC) channels (paper based, online and broadcast), with consistent and integrated messaging

- To use Communications as a strategic lever to engage employees and create a strong association with Organisation.

- Provide expert advice and guidance on all matters relating to IC channels, distribution and publishing

- Prepare communications for Shared Services Leadership on a wide range of issues, translating business messages into inspiring and compelling communications, presentations, papers and articles for internal audiences

- Manage all internal communications for Shared Services strategic initiatives and key announcements, engaging with the GRB internal communications team to meet governance and control procedures

- Manage the content and delivery of all Shared Services publications

- Define, measure and improve the value contributed through each channels

- Develop and manage the delivery of a rolling Internal Communications and Events calendar

- To design and deliver Shared Services wide engagement events involving senior GRB leaders, and business unit executives

- Ensure crisis support for internal communication 24*7.

External Communications, Media and PR (5%)

- Manage media relations locally

- To create the Shared Services PR strategy and operational plan.

- Ensure all Shared Services PR activity complies with the Group and GRB messaging and activity

- Manage Shared Services external communications; deliver consistency and ‘on message’ communications throughout the media, stakeholders and industry bodies

- Embed a measurement processes to evaluate Shared Services external communications activity

- Support to the recruitment and other teams requiring marketing and advertising support

- Protect reputational risk by managing and governing employees’ interaction with the media.

Branding & Brand Management (10%)

- To be the custodian of the brand and the visual identity of organisation in Shared Services

- To manage the employee and external perception of Shared Services and organisation

- To manage special initiatives and projects including new sites launch and branding/ media coverage and announcement of projects and/or deals.Excellent at all forms of communication

- Able to take a Strategic and tactical view; strong understanding of ‘the big picture’ and the ability to transact at a detailed level.

- Highly proficient at event management

- Strong competency in media management

- Very good at assessing audience appropriateness

Essential

- In depth understanding of the media and reputational risks

- In depth understanding of the laws of copyright.

- Extensive experience in corporate communications with a proven track record in developing and managing publications

- Experience of managing the distribution of internal communications messages via a range of channels

- Crisis Management experience.

- Working experience in HR function will be preferred. Should be able to communicate across business and cultural barriers to ensure customer/client satisfaction.
