Job Description:
Support the Regional CCAR Modeling Senior Manager and responsible for a group of Asia countries, by:Providing countries with advice and technical support on CCAR/ICAAP model related issues including model development, appropriateness of segmentation, sample and observation period selection, implementation, validation and strategic use
Reviewing and decision of new and renewal Model Approval Packages (MAP) for various types of CCAR/ICAAP models according to delegated authority / entitlement
Monitoring and reporting the advancement of model approval conditions to MTRC. Ensure they are completed with the target resolution date.
Setting up approval schedule and assign appropriate model reviewer (per Model Risk Management Authorities) for the CCAR/ICAAP models in Asia
Preparing the model assumptions file to Global Model Management Support Team for periodic CCAR/ICAAP model run
Coordinating with Global CCAR Model Management Support Team to schedule periodic model run and obtain model results to support countries CCAR/ICAAP NCL submission
Preparing minutes for MTRC, model discussions and model policy related calls for audit trial
Preparing necessary MIS on regional CCAR/ICAAP modeling activities
Monitoring and reporting the progress of model development and implementation status
Coordinating on all model documentations, including overlay documentation, approved/ declined model justifications, MAP / Technical Review & Independent Model Validation documentation work and approval with Global and countries
Consolidating the Aggregated MAPs documentation for non-priority portfolios to fulfill the Global guideline
Coordinating with countries to ensure completeness and accuracy of the Asia CCAR/ICAAP Model
Inventory and tracking system for models hitting triggers. Support the Regional CCAR Modeling
Senior Manager to perform quarterly reviews.
Ensure countries to timely complete CCAR/ICAAP models documentation, as per GCCFRP requirements.
Support the Regional CCAR Modeling Senior Manager to conduct sample reviews for quality assurance.
Coordinate with Asia countries to complete the new policy gap analysis. Support the Regional
CCAR Modeling Senior Manager to set up transition plan, execute, monitor and update the monthly progress for timely implementation.
Review quarterly / annually performance MIS of all CCAR/ICAAP models in use, according to the model risk classification, to ensure early and proactive actions are taken for those models with signs of deterioration
Participate in the global MCA- program on CCAR/ICAAP Model Management for Regional Risk Management. Perform tests and necessary review of MCA / Self-assessment items and report to Regional CCAR and Non-scoring Modeling Manager on completion, exceptions / findings, corrective action plan and status as appropriate.
Review current and changes in GCCFRP- on possible recommendations to policy revisions, conduct gap analysis, implement the changes and ensure compliance at all levels
Participate in model development and proof of concept projects
Achieve designation of MS within 12 months in position
Act as the Trainer in regional training and workshop to Asia countries on CCAR/ICAAP models governance
Assume projects/initiatives assigned by supervisor
Qualifications
University degree in Economics or Statistics
At least 5-6 years (Manager) / 3-4 years (Analyst) scoring / loss forecasting model management, model oversight role with solid consumer risk management experience for all consumer loan products
Good leadership and people management skills
Strong common sense and judgment in applying the policies and procedures to specific situations
Ability to work effectively under pressure
Solid work experience in handling analysis and presentation of complex financing portfolios
Strong in process management and control concepts
Proactive and problem solving
Disciplined, self-motivated, independent, mature and willing to work overtime as occasional evening conference
calls with Global Office and other Asia countries are expected
Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills in liaising with global model development team and country risk teams at all levels
Strong computer skills particularly in Excel/Powerpoint/SAS/Answer Tree, etc. and prepare presentation decks
Occasional travel across the region will be required
