Purpose of Department
- The CCAR Analytics and Modelling team provides support to various business groups in the areas of data analysis, model development, business strategy implementation, and reporting and data management. It forms the information basis for strategic planning by senior management for businesses and enables effective decision making to satisfy business needs and requirements along with addressing unforeseen challenges.
- The position will report into the functional Head of STEAM GFO STO and will be responsible for model development, calibration, execution, documentation and validation support as well as the execution of models i.e. Scenario Analytics and Modelling, translation of model outcomes into portfolio metrics such as Balance sheet, Fee Income, LICs and RWAs.
- As a Senior member of the team the VP will contribute to extending the group modeling and execution methodology, managing regional stakeholders and coaching and mentoring new members of the team
Job Description
This role forms part of a global stress testing modelling team whose purpose is to support the bank's Global Stress Testing program. Accordingly the role will require the execution and management of all aspects of the model development cycle for stress test models
- Data Cleansing and Preparation
- Variable Transformation and Selection
- Model Iterations
- Model Testing and Sensitivity Analysis
- Model Implementation (translation into forecasted business outcomes)
- Model Documentation
- Model Validation Support
The role will involve hands-on involvement across the modeling life cycle as well as the management and guidance of junior team members. Specific roles and responsibilities will include:
- Development of Code blocks and toolkits to support model development.
- Extension of the Group methodology to reflect new requirements (e.g. IFRS 9 support, Global Market Shock (GMS)
- Contribution towards creation and improvement of modelling standards for the purpose of CCAR
- Critical analysis of models and model implementation output, including business and economic intuition.
- Creation of presentations for communication to Regional Stress Test teams, Business Heads and Senior Management
- Engagement and relationship management with Regional Stress Test teams
- Development of quality model documentation for submission to Internal Model Review, Audit and Regulators
- The material produced by this team forms the basis of submission to senior management and to regulators. A high standard of accuracy and quality is required.
