VP/AVP - Marketing (Mall/Lifestyle/Magazine/ Liquor)

Responsible for the Marketing Department in all aspects of its operation. The position requires planning and execution of special events, public relations efforts, merchant communication and relations, community relations and philanthropic outreach, advertising and collateral production and sponsorship programs.

Responsible to ensure appropriate representation of Mall. You would be responsible to ensure that the programs, events and activities are in line with the Marketing Plan goals and strategies as well as The Company standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Special Event and Marketing Program Management

- Concept, planning and implementation of all event initiatives.

- Mall sponsored community events, merchandising events, fundraising events, third party / partner events and retailer based events

- Establish special event budget and manage event costs.

- Provide the Management with planning and progress for each event.

- Prepare event notifications outlining responsibilities to ensure event needs are communicated to department heads and teams.

- Document each event and create event recaps that include: photos, return on investment, retailer / partner results, press clippings, tear sheets as well as event summary.

- Preparation of promotional materials and collateral to support events.

- Orchestrate merchant participation in Mall sponsored and endorsed partner events.

- Select and order premium items to support events and ongoing programs.

- Oversee Platinum Club programs and initiate activities and outreach.

- Attend community functions to promote the Mall.

Social Media and Public Relations

- Set annual and quarterly goals for Social Media platforms.

- Work with digital marketing coordinator to set social promotional calendar.

- Establish social media strategy.

- Oversee social media voice to maintain brand consistency.

- Establish annual press release distribution plan and manage schedule.

- Create press releases.

- Direct 3rd party writers and bloggers.

- Provide direction and oversight of social media program.

- Maintain press list and keep contacts current.

- Respond to media inquiries and escort approved media on property.

- Complete formal media training.

- Respond to media inquiries when applicable.

- Qualify and grant media interviews when applicable.

- Coordinate merchant participation for print and broadcast PR purposes.

- Meet with media contacts.

- Organize and calculate Mall press clippings.

Sponsorship

- Identify cash sponsorship opportunities and potential partners.

- Prepare sponsorship packages.

- Negotiate sponsorship terms and conditions.

- Media and philanthropic partnerships for events and programs.

- Compile sponsor participation event results.

Advertising

- Responsible to ensure that The Mall website is in line with brand.

- Initiate and oversee website updates.

- Responsible for email blasts promoting Mall and its retailers.

- Responsible to secure retailer assets for website and LEDs.

- Assist in ad campaign planning and execution.

- Manage the media insertion schedule.

- Ensure that Mall signage is current.

- Oversee production of Mall Magazine

Administrative

- Develop annual marketing plan including establishing goals, strategies and tactics.

- Analyze merchant sales results and apply strategies to support merchant sales.

- Secure sales input for anecdotal corporate reporting.

- Handle holiday sales reporting for seasonal photo and gift card.

- Attend community functions and business meetings.

- Merchant communication via monthly reports, meetings, email and memos.

- Oversee handling of charitable donations.

- Monitor inventory levels of premium items, collateral and marketing supplies.

- Compose the Events and Marketing section of the monthly corporate and merchant reports.

Qualification And Experience:

1. MBA with Minimum 10+ Years of Experience in Marketing with a Lifestyle/ Mall/ Magazine/ Liquor Industry & experience in event management

2. Ability to articulate and direct an aggressive functional/operating agenda in a fast-paced and intense environment

3. Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills with the ability to negotiate and influence, while exercising sensitivity to varying audiences

4. Excellent business development, client service, relationship management and executive presentation skills

5. Possess strong leadership skills and management of teams, including assisting in training and development of team members

6. Experience in strategic planning and budget management

7. Experience in digital marketing, advertising, public relations, and brand management

8. Strong organizational skills

9. A minimum of 3 years of experience

10. Social media knowledge and strategy skills

11. Public relations skills

12. Proficient in use of computers particularly Excel, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.

13. Budget preparation and variance control

14. Managing advertising agency and event partners

15. Public relations
