Opening for VP & AVP -Bank of England (BOE) Reporting
Overall purpose of role
The purpose of this role is to:
- Lead the Noida Capital Regulatory Reporting team focusing on GSIB Statistical Reporting
- Maintain productive, high-level Risk and IT relationships to drive change and process efficiencies
- Lead the collaboration with senior stakeholders to design, develop, communicate and implement the strategic end to end operating model
- Develop and implement a strong control environment, negotiating to resolve any key points of contention with Risk and Regulatory Relations stakeholders
- Oversee and prioritise the supply of ad hoc services, complex queries and analysis, lending technical input where specific expertise is required
- Develop and implement Retail, Wealth and Corporate Regulatory Reporting location strategy, ensuring opportunities to realise cost savings are proactively pursued and managed
- Manage a team including hiring, providing appropriate learning and development opportunities, clear career pathways and progression and mobilising our talent globally at all corporate grades.
- Manage the current location strategy project to the agreed budget and timeline, overseeing the effective delivery of training and handover from UK SMEs
- Support ad-hoc data requests from regulators such as Quantitative Impact Studies, Stress testing and be able to prioritise and justify accordingly; negotiate for compromises where the normal team workload justifies normal workload taking priority
- Support Strategic Development team in delivery of projects via provision of subject matter expertise
- Manage senior stakeholder (Director Level) relationship through regular 121, committees, forums etc.
Key Accountabilities:
GSIB Statistical Reporting
- Responsible for delivery of the full GSIB reporting process; ensuring monthly, quarterly timetable is adhered to and all deliverables meet expected standards (i.e. completeness and accuracy of PCB, IB and card contributions to Group PRA returns)
- Working closely with Risk to understand models used, and offer appropriate challenge/review of inputs and outputs etc; and communicate a high-quality interpretation of results
- Be actively involved in GSIB Reporting control & governance framework development and implementation
- Proactively design, develop and implement Lean process improvements to optimise the efficiency of the team and associated Regulatory Reporting functions
- Support the change agenda and strategy (including but not limited to chairing key committee meetings, presenting business cases/project updates to both wide and senior audiences)
- Assist in the production of Statutory Notes to the annual Group Accounts process, ensuring submissions are accurate and compliant
- Management and development of direct report
- Oversee and manage workflow of the team, including through its period of planned growth, deliver alternative approaches, efficiencies and innovate to enhance the services provided to both internal and external customers, including regulators
- Work with direct reports to establish goals and objectives for Performance Development; conduct quarterly reviews of performance against plans and provide feedback
- Provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to team members; ensure appropriate training plans are developed and executed for all team members
- Oversee recruitment, interviewing, selection and hiring processes (as required, and support FC team in this)
- Actively develop a culture of continuous improvement. Proactively review processes, procedures and requirements on a regular basis, identify areas for improvement, develop plans and engage with team and wider stakeholders to drive through the necessary changes
- Manage the BAU cost to the allocated budget.
Stakeholder Management and Leadership
- Stakeholder relationship management (e.g. Business Performance, Group Finance & Risk) - maintain constructive and positive working relationships, negotiating for best effect where required
Decision-making and Problem Solving
- Deal with ad hoc technical queries and plan, programme and conduct complex impact assessments arising from new GSIB reporting
- Provide insightful analysis and recommendations on GSIB reporting related matters to the business - this is a wide-ranging aspect of the role, effectively providing an expert consulting service
Person Specification
Knowledge and Expertise - Essential
- Detailed knowledge of financial products
- Thorough and up to date understanding of financial accounting processes and principles - be able to decipher these for a lay audience and to provide additional colour for Group Accounts etc.
- Advanced knowledge of regulatory reporting
- Advanced understanding of the UK Regulatory environment and the change agenda, as well as familiarity with the global regulatory landscape
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to take ownership and responsibility, proactively managing work through to completion, within deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to be used in preparing material for Director and Managing Director consumption and for senior stakeholder audiences
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Strong presentation skills.
Experience and Qualifications
- The jobholder must have substantial, directly relevant experience in a technical financial environment
- A current Accountancy qualification is essential - ACA, ACCA or CIMA with experience in Finance function. .
