- Resolve to Save Lives is a global health initiative of Vital Strategies that aims to save millions of lives by reducing preventable deaths from cardiovascular disease and to prevent infectious disease epidemics.
- Since September 2017, Resolve to Save Lives has worked closely with low- and middle-income country governments, the World Health Organization, academic and other civil society partners to build capacity for and implement a core package of interventions to reduce cardiovascular disease, the world's leading cause of death.
- Research and policy are critical components of Resolve's cardiovascular health initiative and we have developed an Android application (Simple) to collect hypertension treatment information needed for clinical management of patients. Simple is currently operational in two states of India and is being used to manage more than 200,000 patients across more than 400 clinics, with plans for its deployment in additional program focus countries in 2020.
Job Summary :
- Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Operations Manager for Public Health App Development will provide comprehensive project management, systems development and oversight for all operational aspects of Resolve to Save Lives- development and deployment of its Simple application.
- She/he will support establishment and maintenance of a robust operational infrastructure to support all programmatic and technical efforts concerning Simple. In addition, s/he will support coordination of human resources, contracting, and financial management efforts related to Simple.
- The Operations Manager for Public Health App Deployment will serve as a liaison between Resolve to Save Lives and global partners in countries where Simple is being newly deployed or further expanded.
- She/he will be responsible for establishing related relationships and agreements, and ensuring compliance with local governmental regulations, laws, and data-related policy.
This position is full-time consultancy and is based in Delhi or Bangalore, India.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Provide high-level administrative and operational support to Resolve's technology team and work related to the Simple app
2. Establish and manage administrative procedures and systems
3. Compose correspondence and written material such as but not limited to standard operating procedures (SOPs)
4. Negotiate and secure government approvals
5. Develop and manage contracts
6. Oversee budget development and track expenses
7. Support recruitment of staff, and coordinate staff onboarding and offboarding processes
8. Conduct vendor review and negotiation for third-party services needed for Simple
9. Oversee ToT (training of trainers) activities in coordination with deployment teams
10. Oversee establishment of customer support resources (staff and processes) wherever Simple is deployed
11. In conjunction with implementation partners, lay groundwork for future Simple deployments by determining regional requirements, establishing necessary partnerships, and hiring as necessary
12. Ensure compliance of Simple with local regulations, laws, data access policies, and resolve any data sovereignty issues
13. Develop protocol with states for delivering printed materials (BP passport, training materials, etc.)
14. Conduct outreach to other health IT teams and projects where there may be potential for collaboration or lessons learned
15. Manage reporting to donors and generally assist with communication of project status and other information as necessary
16. Provide support for in-country operations, as needed
Required Qualifications :
1. Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of relevant work experience in operations, administration or systems management with demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
2. Experience working in low- and middle-income settings
3. Experience running a large-scale customer support operation
4. Exceptional organizational and analytical skills, to include the ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks independently
5. Outstanding computer skills
6. Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and to deliver against tight deadlines
7. Flexible, collaborative work style, as well as the capacity to work autonomously
8. Excellent communication, diplomacy and interpersonal skills to support harmonious internal team work as well as global partnerships across cultures
9. Strong sense of responsiveness to internal and external requests, and the ability to collaborate with diverse partners and stakeholders
10. Clear, effective and efficient oral and written communication skills, to include experience with development of contracts
11. Willingness to travel up to 20% to support in-country operations.
