Position : Senior Manager - Contracts
Reporting to : Head of Proposals Development
Location : Mumbai or Nagpur
Primary Responsibility :
- The Senior Manager of Contracts (www.vilindia.com) will have responsibility to provide vision and leadership for all aspects of the Business Contracts Management. This role is responsible for close collaboration with Design & Engineering team, Project Execution teams and Strategy and Developments.
- The role strives to ensure consistent management of all proposals and contracts. This generally includes oversight of contract management process, as well as development of specific standards of bidding and submission in contract negotiations and documents management. In contract development process this role requires a close collaboration with various teams, including operations, business developments, finance, and other business operations groups.
Key Responsibilities :
- Should be able to lead and manage entire life cycle of contracts management which includes MOUs, Agreement & Contracts (Pre & Post)
- As a seasoned business contract leader, add gravitas to strategic discussions and provide thought leadership to develop new processes and growth for Contract function
- Oversee organizational contract development and management activities, and enforce organizational principles of integrity and compliance
- Perform appropriate administrative and operational research to support proposal and contract development
- Draft contractual provisions based on strategy discussions, senior management input, and organizational needs and expectations
- Specialised in Public Private Partnership (PPP)/ EPC contract management with an extensive exposure of various network and operational issues
- Should play an operational and strategic role in managing issues and should be proactive enough to manage the risk and actively engage relevant stake holders
- Should be exceptional in negotiations, issue resolutions, risk mitigation and identifying defects ahead of time with an eye for details
- Must be experience enough to develop a timeline and start & end date for each performance component. Including milestones with accompanying timeframes, and monitoring and reporting requirements
- Establishing scope of authority, clear line of communication and reporting and specific individual who will interact directly with the Business groups and 3rd party network which includes Government to private bodies
- Establishing control of correspondence, data, reports, procedures, identifying a responsible framework and timeline for handling non-compliance
Job Education, Experience and Competencies :
- Must be an Engineer or Lawyer with a post graduate qualification in business management (MBA) from Top B-Schools
- Minimum of 10-15 years of relevant experience in field of Contracts from Infra structure industry and other related industry
- Hands on experience and involvement in drafting Business contracts and drafting claims under various forms of dispute resolution which includes arbitration
- Must be highly matured enough to manage complex relationships and various stakeholders
- Proficiency in utilizing and interpreting financial models and analyses
- Ability to systematically analyse complex problems, draw relevant conclusions and implement appropriate solutions
- Strong verbal and written skills, and ability to convey complex information in a way others can readily follow
- Excellent negotiating and persuasive skills, both in one-on-one or group discussions
