Position : Business Analyst (Equivalent to Manager)
Reporting to : Director - Strategy
Location : Mumbai
Primary Responsibility :
- Business analyst is a strategic importance to us for developing Business development strategies, identification, incubation of new businesses, Project and company level acquisitions, developing business cases for different scenarios, collation of business and market intelligence and business development.
Key Responsibilities :
- Creating business cases for situations ranging from acquisitions to new sector evaluation
- Carrying out due diligence of business entities
- Create and evaluate business plans and financial projections
- Exploring strategic partnerships with international and domestic partners, developing a pitch, NDAs, MoUs/cooperation frameworks
- Supporting in international and domestic business development
- Understand business objectives and design plans to discover prospective customers and business preferences
- Works with business partner to elicit high-level requirements and capture business needs
- Provide competitive analysis on various companies- market offerings, identify market trends, pricing/business models and methods of operations
- Remain fully informed on market trends, other parties research and implement best practices
- Assesses the risk of various solutions and prioritizes competing business demands
- Devising M&A strategies, identifying sectors and grouping of companies that might be viable business targets for clients
- Carrying out financial modelling, then developing and presenting appropriate financial solutions to clients
- Project managing transactions, overseeing the negotiation of terms and developing proposal to raise funds
- Conducting investigations into the financial and commercial state of companies- subject to a particular transaction
Job Education, Experience and Competencies :
- Must be an Engineer from top Engineering colleges and MBA from Top B-School preferably in Finance & strategy as specialization
- Must have minimum 5-7 experience as Business analyst or Business Development or Deal or Strategy development
- Ability to work alone and to plan and execute projects with minimum supervision and to complete work within required deadlines
- Knowledge of the business objectives and processes of various and complex environments
- Ability to think - outside the box- and apply creative and constructive thinking to proposed recommendations for improvements to internal processes controls, procedures, and policies
- Demonstrate excellent analytical skills in proposing well-founded conclusions
- Demonstrated initiative, autonomy, adaptability, maturity and sound judgment
- Excellent communication and listening skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of management and unionized staff
- Understanding of financial evaluation tools including ratios, cash flows, break-even points, etc.
- Understanding of financing options for business start-ups and business expansions
- Skills in preparing and presenting accurate written and oral summaries of financial analyses prepared
- Skill in using financial analysis computer programs
- Mastery of spreadsheet software i.e., Excel.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, customers, lenders, investors, other agencies, and the general public.
