JD:

- We are seeking a dynamic and detail- oriented Safety and Compliance Program Manager to lead and manage the Safety and Compliance programs for our Hardlines and Consumable business.

- The ideal candidate will have a strong background in regulatory compliance, risk assessment, and inventory management, coupled with the ability to work with diverse products and stakeholders across multiple regions, including India and China.

- This role requires a proactive approach in establishing regulatory practices, nurturing third- party relationships, and ensuring the seamless execution of new product launches while maintaining high standards of product quality, safety, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

- Safety and Compliance Management: Oversee the Safety and Compliance program for the Hardlines and Consumable business, ensuring adherence to relevant regulations and standards.

- Regulatory Intelligence: Establish and maintain a robust regulatory intelligence practice, conducting research, impact assessments, and monitoring mechanisms to develop a strategic approach for compliance across a diverse product selection.

- Inventory Management Improvement: Implement improvement plans focused on healthy inventory management by identifying and removing defects using lean processes.

- Stakeholder Engagement: Provide timely, accurate, and pragmatic advice to stakeholders, particularly for the IN private brand, on a range of issues including third- party testing, due diligence, and international trade regulations.

- Third- Party Collaboration: Establish and nurture relationships with third- party labs and agencies, ensuring the effective execution of quality, safety, and compliance protocols across sourcing locations in India and China.

- New Product Launches: Lead the execution of new product launches, ensuring that all products meet quality, safety, and compliance standards while providing an optimal user experience. Products include electrical and electronic equipment, appliances, household items, tools, fertilizers, etc.

- Protocol Development: Develop and maintain systems and processes to support the growth of private brands, reducing product development cycle time while maintaining compliance.

- Business Model Support: Enable new business models by supporting sellers and vendors in improving product quality through strategic interventions and guidance.

- Regulatory Updates: Monitor and communicate changes in regulatory frameworks, ensuring stakeholders are informed and compliant with planning and execution.

- Policy Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments to develop, review, and update operational policies and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory standards.

- Training and Development: Develop and deliver training sessions for peers and stakeholders, enhancing their understanding of regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements.

- Risk Assessment: Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential compliance risks and vulnerabilities, providing actionable recommendations for improvement.

- Factory Audits: Execute factory audits, analyse operations, and provide recommendations for corrective actions to enhance compliance and ensure safe and compliant product placement.

Qualifications:

- Proven experience in managing safety and compliance programs, particularly within Hardlines and Consumable businesses.

- Strong knowledge of regulatory practices, international trade regulations, and compliance standards.

- Experience in working with diverse product categories including electrical equipment, appliances, and household products.

- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and with external partners.

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct risk assessments and implement corrective actions.

- Proficiency in lean processes and inventory management.

- Experience in training and development related to regulatory compliance.

- Ability to work in a fast- paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
