Key Experience: A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in project management within the social impact sector, demonstrating a successful track record of leading and delivering complex projects effectively. Use of behavioral insights, design methods, and creative impact indicators is desirable. Ability to work with governments, implementation agencies, and donors is important.
Educational Qualification: A Bachelors or Masters degree in Design, Social Design, Social Innovation, Sociology or Anthropology, Rural Development or Social Marketing or Environmental Sciences and Biospheric Protection or Public Health.
Role Overview: We are actively seeking an accomplished Senior Project Supervisor to become an integral part of our dynamic team. In this key leadership role, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing every facet of project execution and knowledge management, ensuring not only the timely completion of projects but also the delivery of high-quality results that exceed client expectations. You will also work closely with the Head of Operations and CEO and interface with different clients and project teams. You will ensure all project teams uphold the company's standards throughout each project's development and execution. The ideal candidate for this position will possess a proven track record in successful project management, robust leadership capabilities, and a demonstrated ability to foster effective collaboration within cross-functional teams and client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
A. Project Quality Assurance:
- Supervising and providing required assistance to project teams in the production of client-facing knowledge products on a timely basis
- Support Project Managers with tasks within the project cycle right from project orientation, to the design and research phase, solutions development and piloting phase as well as the finished project artifact by providing the team with creative direction
- Exhibit creative leadership in the space of design research, analysis, prototyping, ideation
- Direct and lead project activities such as field research, client workshops, design analysis
- Define and ensure the application of appropriate research methodologies aligned with project objectives.
- Conduct regular reviews to verify the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of project data.
- Review and approve project reports, ensuring they adhere to established outlines and maintain high-quality standards.
B. Project Operations Support
- As a Senior Project Supervisor, maintaining tight coordination with the Head of Operations (HOP) will be paramount for the successful execution of projects and the overall effectiveness of the team.
- Collaborate with finance and project teams to accurately invoice clients based on project milestones achieved.
- Lead the planning efforts for field activities, ensuring efficient deployment of resources and adherence to project timelines.
- Address logistical challenges faced by project teams promptly, and provide solutions and support to mitigate operational disruptions, ensuring seamless project execution.
- Offer technical guidance and support to project teams as needed.
- Provide soft skills support to enhance team collaboration, communication, and overall effectiveness.
C. Client Relationship Management
- Foster positive client relationships through regular communication and engagement.
- Proactively seek client feedback to identify areas for improvement and ensure project alignment with client expectations.
- Ensure transparency and alignment between project progress and invoicing.
D. Thought Leadership
- Lead the creation of concept notes and contribute to writing compelling project proposals.
- Ensure alignment with organizational goals and client expectations.
- Actively participate in webinars and social media activities to showcase thought leadership and promote organizational expertise.
- Contribute to content creation for social media platforms.
- Engage in business development calls, representing the organization and exploring potential opportunities.
- Build and nurture relationships with potential clients and partners.
E. Developing Team and Talent
- Lead the design and construction of new project teams, considering the skills and expertise required for project success.
- Facilitate team onboarding and integration.
- Implement systems to track and assess team member contributions and skills.
- Provide feedback and mentorship to support professional development.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and assessments to identify areas for improvement and recognition of excellence.
