Vidya Group of Engineering Institutions is a group of engineering institutions that are based out of Hyderabad. The group institutions, Lords Institute of Engineering and Technology and Vidya Vikas Institute of Technology, are both more than a decade old. These institutions are approved by AICTE, affiliated to JNTUH and accredited by NBA. The institutions are highly acknowledged by the industry and academia as can be seen by the rankings awarded by various agencies. The institutions are set to soon become deemed universities in the field of technical Education. At present, there are close to 350 employees in the group and around 4000 students pursuing various programs. The group has plans of further penetrating into the education sector and is looking for people to help them achieve the same.
The promoters of the group are highly qualified (read CAs, alumni of BITS Pilani, ISB Hyderabad) and are in the sector for over two decades. They are looking for people who can work with them and help in transforming the organization from a traditional family run setup to a professionally run organization. Job Description Business Development Manager:
- The company is looking for a Business Development Manager to manage end to end industry linkage activities for given number of engineering disciplines (includes placements, higher education, entrepreneurship, internships, consultancy, research activities, introduction new courses)
- Will coordinate with various teams to achieve targets within given time frame
- Will be responsible for branding and marketing the institution in the B2B space for various activities in the above said branches
- Should reach out to alumni of the institution to organize various interactive sessions with existing students
- In addition to this, the candidate will also need to be involved in various responsibilities given from time to time by the management
The various roles and responisibilites include
For Placements and internships:
- Lead generation and management of existing and new recruiters across various industries and approaching them for placements
- Regularly liaise with potential recruiters and ensure their interaction with the students
- Building a network with HR of different companies and getting references
- Should be able to effectively market student achievements to potential recruiters
- Following up with companies for feedback on the students
- Source and follow up with various corporate for collaborations on various platforms
- Identifying opportunities for improvements and implementing innovative solutions
For Higher Education:
- Identify and interact with various universities and consulting companies to facilitate students in their pursuit for higher education
- Should identify opportunities to collaborate with various institutions for devising innovative programs for students
For Entreprenuership:
- Should be able to plan and execute various initiatives to help imbibe entrepreneurship culture within the institution
- Interact with various Incubators and Entrepreneurship cells across the country to assist in establishing one in the institution
For Collaboration:
- Identify various opportunities with corporate for them to setup/offer consultancy their facility in the institution
- Pursue and ensure the collaboration happens
- Ensure that the in-house faculty teams are in sync for the collaborative efforts
Liaising within the institution:
- Interact with students and understand their requirements and strive to achieve them
- Work closely with the inhouse faculty team to organize various events and activities that will help in career advancements
- Manage database of students as they graduate from the institutions
- Regularly interact with the corporate recruitment training head to modify the training modules as per company requirements
- Work with the media relations unit of the organization to ensure effective marketing of various achievements of Career advancement cell from time to time
Reporting relationship:
- Will report to the top management of the institutions on a regular basis
- Will work closely and report to the top management within the institutions
Desired candidate profile:
- Minimum 4 years of B2B selling experience
- MBA from tier2 institutions or B.Tech from IITs, BITS, NITs
- Should contribute individually along with managing teams
- Ability to work with Sales and Performance targets
- Should have consistently performed in previous role while managing self and team
- Must be self-motivated and a go-getter
- Fluency in English & Hindi
- Must be willing to travel
