Job Profile: Delivery Manager

ORGANIZATIONAL POSITION:

Reports directly to: Lead - Product Owner eCommerce

Span of control:


- The Delivery Manager is responsible for delivering the right amount of people with the right qualities within the right time for the technical teams of his scope.

- The team members and partners delivering team capacity are reporting to him/her.

- He operates with the capacity needed for the projects placed on the company roadmap as well as the company guidelines set for Business Technology.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

- The Delivery Manager delivers the required team capacity for the different business domains within eCommerce he is responsible for.

- He aligns with Lead Product Owner as well as domain Product Owners to determine the needed capacity in the coming quarters and hires the needed capacity (internal or from partners) with the right qualities on the right time to ensure the delivery of roadmaps are met.

- Based on the "Guiding Principles" he makes sure that all team roles are filled in with people with the right capabilities and qualities, so the overall governance of the technology landscape is ensured.

- As their line manager, he regularly evaluates the team members on their performance and helps them to improve.

- He determines impediments in the quality and quantity of the teams and takes corrective measures.

- He regularly evaluates the partners on their added value as well as the delivery of the right quality and quantity.

TASKS:

Portfolio Process role:

- Aligns with Lead PO and PO's on the roadmap to deliver and determines needed additional capacity needed from the partners.

- Contracts the needed resources well in advance, so the capacity and quality is available when needed.

Result:


- The right team capacity (internal and external capacity) and qualities are in place for the business technology domains of scope so the delivery of the company roadmap is supported with the right team setup.

- Execution of developments and stakeholder management

- Regularly checks in with team, partners and stakeholder to determine if the delivered efforts are in line with the expectations and take corrective measures if they mismatch.

- Updates his stakeholders proactively and frequently on progress and findings.

- While he also empowers stakeholders to find all the answers they need in a central place.

- Resolves impediments for the team in case help is required.

- Coaches the teams to work according to the WoW vidaXL is using and monitors the usage of the Guiding Principles.

Result:


- The teams are instructed, familiar with and operate according to the WoW of vidaXL.

They are following the Guiding Principles.

- If deviations occur, he takes action.

- Hierarchical Manager

- Acts as line manager for all team members (internal and external)

- Performs the HR activities for the internal team members.

- Regularly evaluates the efforts and results of the external partners and their people and if needed, ensures they will improve.

Result:


- All team members are suitable to perform their jobs.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

- Very high level of ownership, proactive attitude and sticking to commitments.

- General knowledge of the technology stacks used within his eCom teams (such as Salesforce, SAP, Salsify, Zendesk, ESB, etc.)

- General knowledge of the processes relevant for his scope.

- Deep agile knowledge.

Total IT experience: 10+ years.

- 5+ year of experience into software development role before he/she is into project management /Delivery role.

- Relevant 5+ years of experience as development manager, sourcing manager, delivery manager or agile coach in relevant organizations.

- Experience of being the hierarchical manager of a large team (20+ people).

- Provides guidance and direction to engineers and developers on requirements for product enhancements, representing the Product Managers and business users.

- Uses technical, business and product knowledge to assist Sr.

- Product Managers to prioritize and manage the product backlog of features and requirements.

- Ensures the team are having agile development ceremonies that are highly valuable and coaches the team were needed.

- Documents and publishes new feature information or product changes for release notes or other training materials.

- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Scrum master, or related certifications (optional but advantageous).
