Client is a early stage Venture Capital Fund focussed on technology startups in the cleantech, health tech and enterprise software sectors.

The VP Portfolio Management Role will give you an oppurtunity to work with innovative startups and create impact in the entrepreneurial ecosystem. You play a critical role in supporting the executive and helping the organization achieve its strategic objectives. Your ability to multi-task, communicate effectively, and collaborate with diverse stakeholders is essential to your success in this role.

Key deliverables of this role:

- Portfolio Management: Once investments are made, you'll monitor the performance of portfolio companies, provide guidance and support to the management teams when needed, and help them navigate challenges and opportunities.

- Value Addition: Leveraging your network, expertise, and resources to add value to portfolio companies beyond capital injection. This could involve connecting them with potential customers, partners, or talent, providing strategic advice, or facilitating followon funding rounds.

- Exit Strategy: Working towards successful exits, whether through IPOs, acquisitions, or secondary sales. This involves timing the exit for maximum returns and managing relationships with potential acquirers or underwriters.

- Reporting and Communication: Keeping stakeholders informed about the performance of the portfolio, including limited partners, investors, and internal teams. This may involve preparing regular reports, presentations, and updates.

- Risk Management: Assessing and managing risks associated with investments, including market risks, operational risks, and regulatory risks.

- Continuous Learning: Staying updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in venture capital and startup management. This involves attending conferences, workshops, and networking events, as well as reading relevant publications and research.

Qualifications

- Prior Experience: 10+ years of demonstrated experience in management consulting or growth equity firms, where you've honed your skills in analyzing businesses, identifying growth opportunities, and driving value creation strategies.

- Passion for Business Building: You thrive in environments where you can roll up your sleeves and work closely with entrepreneurs to build and scale their companies. You're energized by the challenges and opportunities inherent in early-stage ventures.

- Strong Decision-Making and Problem-Solving Abilities: You must have a track record of making sound investment decisions and solving complex problems in dynamic and uncertain environments. You can analyze data, assess risks, and make strategic recommendations with confidence.

- Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: You excel in communicating complex ideas clearly and persuasively, whether it's presenting investment opportunities to senior partners or collaborating with founders and management teams to execute growth strategies.

- Collaborative Team Player: You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working closely with senior partners, colleagues, and portfolio companies to achieve common goals. You're able to build rapport and trust with diverse stakeholders and contribute effectively to team dynamics.

- Educational Background: A Master's degree in Finance, Business, or a related field provides a solid foundation for the analytical and strategic aspects of the role. It demonstrates your commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of finance and investment management
